"The hotel was in the perfect location for the rail station, which was the reason for booking. The hotel was adequate in regards to their facilities, and the owner was very friendly, which is always a plus. The room was small, but fine for an overnight stay. It was a little bit musty in smell, though probably just needed airing a little bit more. Breakfast was reasonable and I was accommodated for allergies and preference. "

"The Old Lock Up was clean,warm, and welcoming. I stayed for 3 nights in the Solicitor's room, which I found pleasant and characterful, with a comfortable bed and a good sized ensuite. It was very quiet with really thick walls. The breakfast was great and beautifully cooked. The property is well situated a short walk from the centre of Wirksworth. I managed it easily even with a sprained ankle. I had a very pleasant stay."

"It was a comfortable stay. There were a few things that could be seen as a safety issue but nothing that’s not fixable. The radiators didn’t work and the room did get quite cold but other than that it was a secure and safe place.
