Lake House Cabin is a 800 square feet, rustic wood cabin, that sits overlooking a beautiful lake and Lookout Mountain. It's located in the Preserve in Johnson's Crook. The Preserve is a 2800 acre area that's located in Rising Fawn Ga. We are 35 miles from Chattanooga Tn and 2 hours from Atlanta Ga., Nashville Tn., Knoxville Tn. and Birmingham Al.

Come stay and this beautiful rustic wood cabin and enjoy the sounds of nature. Renting this cabin gives you access to multiple fishing lakes. We are 30 minutes from downtown Chattanooga where you can enjoy the Tennessee Aquarium, take a walk over the Walnut Street Bridge and enjoy Coolidge Park or you can visit Rock City or Ruby Falls. We are 15 minutes from Cloudland Canyon State Park where you can enjoy miles of hiking trails. We are 20 minutes from the Wilderness Outdoor Movie Theater if you would like to go to a drive in movie. The outdoor theater closes during the Winter.

Cabin has a coded door lock. I will send guests a message with the code the day before they are scheduled to arrive. Also there's no internet at the cabin so there's no wifi.

Fishing is allowed right off your back porch or you can fish in any of the other lakes located in the Preserve (no fishing license required). Just bring your own fishing gear. Kayaks available (no boats with motors allowed).

Fun little rustic cabin
We enjoyed the tranquility and simplicity of this cabin perched on its little lake. Had everything we needed (plus a lot more for outdoor stuff that we didn't use). Enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the view.

Perfect Vacation Spot
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this cabin for our small family getaway. The views were gorgeous, and the cabin itself was exactly what we were looking for. We were able to cook food when needed, light the fire heater, and relax while our little girl slept upstairs. We look forward to going back in a different season to truly enjoy the outdoor aspect of the property.

Best First Family Retreat
This was the start of a family tradition of renting a cabin and just relaxing. The cabin was as described, cozy and very inviting. Everything was clean and if we forgot anything, it was stocked with essentials. Excellent communication.

We rented this place based on the lake front and view. My son had decided this was the perfect place to propose to his girlfriend. This cabin did not disappoint. It was a little small but lacked for nothing. The host was very responsive and check in was seemless. Would 100% recommend.

A place in paradise
A place in paradise is actually how my wife described this cabin. The views are spectacular. The cabin itself prepared very carefully to meet everyones needs. Perfect getaway
This cabin was exactly what was needed.You are far enough away from city lights to enjoy the wonder and beauty of a southern night sky,but still stay connected.The cabin was beautiful,and recently renovated.The dock on the water is a great place to spend morning with a cup of coffee.I can't say enough about our stay,it was perfect for our family.We look forward to staying here in the future.The area is full of outdoor activities.Just minutes up the road is Cloudland Canyon State Park with amazing views and waterfalls.Ruby Falls,and Rock City were great locations for the family.

Mother and Son Get Away
There were lots of spider webs on the outside of the cabin that needed to be cleaned and the paddle boat is under water so it could not be used. The grill would not start so had to put in a new battery for it to work. These were a few minor things. We loved our trip and fishing.

Wonderful weekend getaway!
This charming fishing cabin was our home-away-from-home for a long weekend! The cabin was wonderful - perfect for our family of four! During the day we day-tripped to Look Out Mountain and Chattanooga; during the morning and evenings we fished in the private lake right outside the back door! We caught Striped Bass and Bluegill. On walks through the woods around the property, we saw beaver, deer, wild turkey, kingfishers, brown bats and geese and ducks! At night, we cooked out on the grill in the screened porch area and watched animated movies together! Truly a "bonding" family experience! Thank you Danny!

Over all we enjoyed our get away. The only draw back was no hot water. Only cold. We saw nowhere that it might be turned on. We were given no phone numbers to call for help with this. Only email.

Owner can do a better job of maintaining and updating property. Some light bulbs out, no instructions for operating AC or leaving the house. Floorplan not friendly to seniors with bedrooms upstairs and bathroom downstairs, and no closets. We enjoyed the lake, but not necessarily the house. Grill starter broken, sofa needs replacing, paddle boat flooded. More maintenance.

We loved this cabin! It was just enough room for 3 adults and a 2 year old. We spent a week here and were so sad to leave. We stayed at the cabin most days and played in the water with the provided kayaks and paddle boat. It was amazing! We also were only about 2 hours from Nashville and 2 from Knoxville, so we took in the Grand ole Opry, Zoo Knoxville and Lost sea. Closer to the cabin we went to Cloudland Canyon Park, which we loved! We also went to Chattanooga to see Ruby Falls, Rock City, Incline Railroad, and took a ride on a train (my 2 year olds favorite). We will be back and if you are on the fence about this property, go for it! It exceeded our expectations.

Enjoyed the kayaks and the fishing was great!
Need to have a card table and chairs in closet so that people can eat and play games inside. (Not even a coffee table available). Was disappointed in the grill. It was so filthy we could not use it. Other than that everything was great. By the way, your local is not an otter. It is a beaver.

Nice, quiet cabin with beautiful view
Overall we had a great time at this location. We fished a lot. We used the paddle boat quiet often. It was great to use to get around the lake. The kayaks were very dirty, so we didn’t get in those. One thing I would suggest is more lighting on the bottom part of the deck. When we were night fishing it was very hard to see. We had to use out lights on our cell phones. Other than that, no complaints! We enjoyed Thatchers BBQ in town. Overall, It was a very relaxing weekend.

Not quite what we are used to
Although the lake and surrounding property were very peaceful and enjoyable, the cabin left a little to be desired. The screened in porch was dirty and messy. The toilet, due to its cramped location, was difficult to use. The sofa springs are shot and need to be replaced. The grill was old with knobs missing and the back porch lightbulb was burned out. The paddle boat was submerged.

Perfection!
We stated at this property, because we wanted a getaway. It did not disappoint! I was a little nervous after reading some of the other reviews, but there was no need to be. This cabin is clean, themed adorably, and we loved all the amenities. Yes, there were a few cobwebs (Hardly any!) on the OUTSIDE patio, but I a wanted a cabin in the woods, not a Hilton! Yes, there was a stray fishing lure on the bottom part of the deck. No big deal. I picked it up and threw it away. Overall, this place is super nice, very clean, and possibly the most serene place I’ve ever stayed. If you were on the fence about booking, don’t be! Book it now you will not be sorry!

Our favorite place…between peace and quiet
Our second time staying at this cabin. We’ve deemed it one of our favorite places. Rustic, peaceful, comfortable… if you need to unplug, this is your spot. Private lake perfect for kayaking, fishing off the dock right at the house, porch sitting, game playing and REST.
