Morton House Masham and The Stable Block Masham together comprises is a grade II listed stone farmhouse and 18th century Stable Block located just off the market square in the picturesque market town of Masham. The accommodation is within easy walking distance of all amenities, pubs, shops and of course Masham’s famous breweries – The Black Sheep and Theakstons.

The house has been completely refurbished with your comfort in mind and without losing any of the charm of the old building. The property can sleep up to 14 people and a further guest can be accommodated on a roll away bed.

Inside Morton House you'll find stone floors, exposed wooden beams, roaring fires and many more charming features which give Morton House its character. Set over three floors, downstairs there are two reception rooms - a formal sitting room with an open fire and a family room with SKY TV and cosy wood burning stove. The large farmhouse style kitchen and dining area is a lovely place to relax with friends and family and cook up a storm on the large 7 burner range cooker. There is also a downstairs WC for your convenience.

Morton House offers four bedrooms, all upstairs. One Super-King size room, a double and a twin with the large master bedroom in the loft. The master bedroom suite offers a King size bed, dramatic wood beams, an extra single day-bed and an en-suite with a bath. The twin bedroom has an en suite shower room and there is a further family bathroom with a shower over the bath giving you 3 bathrooms in total in the main property.

Attached at the rear of Morton House, enclosed in a walled courtyard garden is The Stable Block. Inside a very sweet cottage-style kitchen, dining and lounge area complete with SKY TV with flat screen TV. The lounge also features French doors leading out to the private walled patio courtyard with its gas BBQ.

There is a downstairs en suite (shower) bedroom which also enjoys access to the garden via French doors. On sunny days the sunshine pours through the window onto the bed. Upstairs a further two bedrooms (a King size and a small twin) are joined by a further shower room.

This property is well suited to guests with limited mobility but please note we are not fully disabled accessible.

Both buildings are attached and within a few yards of one another and a baby monitor will reach from the bedroom in The Stable Block to the main house. Masham, one church, 4 pubs and 2 breweries!

A typical Yorkshire styled house with plenty of space for a large group. Well equipped kitchen and large family dining table. Bedrooms with comfortable beds and sufficient bathrooms made this an excellent holiday stay for a 9 persons family. Very conveniently located near some popular Yorkshire sightseeing locations.

Masham beer fest

Morton House and Stables is an excellent venue especially for larger groups. There is plenty of space for gathering and enjoying time spent in the garden or inside if the weather is poor.Being fairly central it is only a short walk to the market place and associated cafes and small interesting shops Highly recommended

Top notch house for large groups right in the centre of Masham

Great house for groups. If you take the stable block, that is VERY comfortable and self-contained. The main house has everything we needed for a long weekend. Great social areas and lovely bedrooms. Very close to the main town square with all the shops, pubs and restaurants literally seconds / minutes from your front door. This was our second visit and we'll definitely be back next year!

Weekend at Masham birthday celebration

Had a brilliant weekend with family, the accommodation had everything we needed, very well equipped and the weather was great. Only downside really was the roadworks outside made it a bit hard for parking we did have 4 cars between us but they aren’t there all the time. Would definitely use again masham is a lovely place.

50th Birthday Surprise

Absolutely fantastic weekend at Morton House and the stable block. 13 friends celebrating a 50th birthday. Both houses were very spacious, clean and exactly what we needed. Hosts were brilliant, very helpful and informative about the area with a recommendation for food at The White Bear, again outstanding. Would definitely recommend

Fantastic Christmas break with room for the whole family

Michelle and Columb were fantastic hosts from the moment we first inquired about staying at Morton House. They proactively provided recommendations based on our party, responded within minutes to any questions and were flexible and understanding of any additional requests. The house was decorated when we arrived which the children loved and we had everything we needed easily to hand throughout our stay. We had an amazing time and would recommend to anyone who wants to have a bigger gathering but doesn't have the space.

New Year in Morton House

The three generations of our family, our ages ranging from 1year to 72 years, enjoyed our 14th return visit to Morton House and Stable Block to celebrate the beginning of the new year. We love the period features and cottage feel of the house and the relaxing simplicity of the converted Stable block. The rooms give us space for eating, playing games and relaxing. The outdoor space is great for prams, scooters and walking shoes etc. Michelle and Columb are always the best of hosts and we hope to return next year.

Masham Trip

Went to Masham with friends the village is beautiful, the local pubs Kingshead, Bay Horse we frequented most of our 3 days and the staff were lovely couldn’t do enough for you. Met friendly locals and had a good laugh with the butcher, there’s plenty of local shops bakers, grocery and the cake/sweet shop which one of my friends bought all of the lemon drizzle cakes. We had a tour at The Black Sheep Brewery a must if you go to Masham and food there is excellent. Thank you Michelle, Morton House and Stable are lovely accommodation, close to all amenities in a beautiful village. We will be returning.
