Best Western Plus was great. It definitely met my expectations. Even during the pandemic everything was clean and organized. Breakfast was still amazing. Of course most people will choose this for the location as Niteroi's may beach is 5 minutes away. Plenty of restaurants, bars, dining options, supermarkets, etc, all within walking distance.
I went to Rio for Carnival and the service was outstanding! One day, they knocked on my door and gave me a cake because it was my birthday! I didn’t tell them anything and they surprised me. Every single member of the staff was fantastic! Great location, one of the best experiences I have had in my life. Truly remarkable.
This hotel was really clean and comfortable. It had a good breakfast included as well same as parking. It takes about 30-45 minutes to get to most main areas in rio like Copacabana.
The hotel is well situated It is not right in the middle of all the "action" in Icararaí, I felt by no means far away from it. In some ways, it was nice to be in a slightly quieter part. The beach and the shops are within easy walking distance.
The Front Desk staff were bilingual, which helped. They were also courteous, warm, and accommodating. My room was clean and spacious. The shower in the bathroom had the best water pressure I have experienced in a hotel thus far. I wish the jets in the hot tub/bath worked, though.
During my stay in Niteroí, I stayed at four different hotels. Of the four, The Best Western Plus Icaraí Design Hotel was the most enjoyable. I would have no problems with staying there again at some point in the future.
The hotel in general is nice and clean but the main reason I stay there for, a good night of sleep didn’t happen. It was 100F in Rio and their air conditioner stoped working 2 times on me and I would wake up literally suffocating . I called front desk and the recomendaion was to remove the key from the powersoure and wait until it shuts down. By the time it happen to me at 2AM and again at 4AM I could not sleep after that and had a terrible day after. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. This is not the type of hustle the someone should get while staying in a hotel.
I have stayed here several times, mostly for business. Love the price. Icarai beach is very close, but this is not a swimming beach. Friendly folks, English is spoken by front desk. Comfortable beds, very clean and new. I will be back.
Good check in, fast, good room service and friendly staff, there was no spot to park the car I had to leave at the street.
Good option to stay in Niteroi
This hotel is good and clean and the hotel staff is very friendly. They explain to you the hotel facilities upon arrival and are very quick to address any issues that arise.
There is a car park but the number of spaces does not cover all the rooms and during busy seasons you may find that you don't get a parking space.
My stay included breakfast and my overall impression of it was very good. There is plenty of choice and you can help yourself as much as you like. There is also paid extras if you feel like even more of a change to your breakfast routine.
There is good free Wi-Fi available to all guests.
There is no swimming pool but the beach is just a few steps away.
It is located close to the main commercial area too for a bit of shopping if you feel inclined to, but not too close to be on your face and take away the piece and quiet of the location.
Loved breakfast, fruits and fruit juices. Bacon, eggs, cereal, cheeses, Hams, cakes, breads etc., delicious! Rooms were clean, staff was wonderful. Bikes available free of charge for guests. Fridge had water, apples, juice and an yougust bar for us everyday. Great experience.
I arrived and the reception desk was helpful with getting me acquainted. I had arranged for a visitor to come meet me at the hotel later. When she showed up without luggage because she is a local and asked for me at the desk they called my room and told me I would be charged for each time I had someone visit me or show up to the hotel. That was very odd and rude in my opinion. Also three times I would return to my room after being gone all day and left the sign saying please clean my room hanging on the door knob. But the room was not cleaned. I didnt go to Brazil to party. So I wasn't stumbling around imagining things. The reception also gave me bad directions twice.
Hotel is new (an old library/bookshop). It has a narrow frontage in a relatively quiet road (for Niteroi) close to the beach (5min walk). It's overlooked by other adjacent building , so there is no view for rooms on the side of the building. Reception was quick and orderly. Rooms are smaller than expected for western travellers. Adequate clothing shelves and open closet. Bathrooms are compressed and shower only. Supply of toiletries was intermittent (five day stay). Adequate towelling. Bed linen changed every day. Safe in the room. TV available but clearly Brazilian stations for the most. Restaurant on 1st floor. Breakfast: fresh juice, fresh fruits, yogurts, bread for toast, pastries, boiled eggs and scrambled eggs, though the bacon is not the crispy maple type. You can get dinner, but a simple menu which did not alter during our stay. As a modern hotel electric sockets are essentially 2 pin and recessed which prevent some converters being unable to connect. WiFi was free with our room, the rate also included breakfast.
We came for a conference in Niteroi. The hotel area (Icarai) is beautiful - near the bay with elegant shops and restaurants. The exact location of the hotel is a little far from the center of Icarai (near the Modern Art Museum) but walking there along the water is very safe and pleasant. The hotel is new and very clean. TV has English channels (CNN and BBC). Breakfast is good and WiFi is working well. The staff is very friendly. They offered us gym tickets and free bikes which we did not use.
My experience was great! It was convenient to have breakfast and items such as water, juice and fruits in the fridge available without additional cost. The location was great and staff members were very polite and kind. We were very happy and grateful. From Icaraí beach you have a great view from Rio and the Museum of Contemporary Art is awesome!
This was an excellent place to stay. The front desk was very helpful. Location was just a block away from the beach and the hotel was very clean. Great pride was taken in the facility. Rooms were modern, clean, and very comfortable.
Absolutely charming hotel in safe neighborhood. The staff from reception, restaurant, housekeeping were great and absolutely polite and helpful catering to our every need. Reception helped with great patience with taxis, tours, translations, recommendations etc. Restaurant staff catered to our every special request always with a smile. Lovely ladies. Housekeeping was a bit challenging due to lack of English knowledge but reception was always at hand to explain. It's a charming hotel, beautifully decorated, clean and convenient. Would recommend to anyone wanting a calm cozy comfortable stay with super service.
Hotel is basically brand new opened July 2016 , very nice rooms, rooms are little small but do the job.
Staff is very friendly and eager to help. Free parking, excellent breakfast buffet, free water and as well as all mini bar items, which are complementary.
You cannot beat the service and the value you get for your money .
We stay in Niteroi 4-5 times a year for more than a week at a time. This location is our new home away from home.
