Liked: Good breakfast - plenty of choice. Pool and gymn. Breakfast staff. Dislike: Accused of taking confectionery from mini bar, which we didn’t. Insisted we pay extra, which led to delay in checking out while taxi was waiting and in panic to find money to pay for confectionery resulted in wife’s purse with a considerable amount of USD being dropped. In trying to contact hotel to see if anyone handed in the lost purse, once we realised in Iguasso, no response from several calls and messages.

Good location close to beach and metro station, taxi's usually outside or close by. Staff very friendly and helpful especially evening staff help with information about places to visit and how to get there using metro. Room good size and large roomy shower and plenty hot water. Staff helpful with logging on to internet which was good but if a problem there was a separate computer in reception you could use also helpful if needed to print something. Good breakfast starting 6.30. Shops close by. Would stay here again

Hotel Astoria Copacabana is an excellent bargain hotel with features that make it more than just a bargain: gym equipment, a pool, free breakfast, cordial front-desk staff, and a highly convenient location in between two Metrô stops and two blocks from the beach. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience Rio on a budget.

Unfortunately, our recent stay at [Hotel Name] was extremely disappointing. The hotel's online photos grossly misrepresent its actual condition. Our room had: •⁠ ⁠Uncomfortable pillows •⁠ ⁠Outdated bathroom •⁠ ⁠Cockroaches •⁠ ⁠No security measures in place Additionally, we witnessed other guests reporting theft from their rooms in the lobby. The overall experience was unsettling and fell far short of our expectations.

overall, the facilities were great. I had some difficulty with the air conditioning in my room and the ability to receive fresh towels when needed , however, when I brought it to the attention of front desk staff. it was immediately addressed.

The hotel is in a good location, three blocks from Copacabana. There is parking, which worked well for us. The hotel does not have recent facilities. So if someone is looking for a hotel with recent or new facilities, this is not the hotel for you. But in my case, it worked for us, the bathroom and the beds are ok. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I do recommend it for those who are not fussy or demanding regarding the facilities. I liked it and I give it a rating of 8.5. I would like to point out that you only have to walk across the street and on the corner there is a place to go to eat, whether it is breakfast if you don't like the hotel, lunch or dinner. They open early and close late. I recommend the delicious juices (Sucos).

Had to swap rooms several times due to FILTHY bed sheets/towels/ overall room. The third time around they wouldn’t even swap me anymore, they just sent the bellboy up to my room and had him change my comforter and sheets, which were also dirty. They also tried to charge me for a water that I did not drink. When I asked them to put me in a different hotel, they said company policy says we can’t do that. They never apologized for anything and acted like I was an inconvenience
