Great stay!
Had a great stay for the second time with our friends and pets. Great location with a gorgeous view. Couldn’t enjoy the fireplace and the hot tub however, since it was raining all weekend. Will have to return soon!

A short getaway
A very nice cabin in a great location. We loved getting in the hot tub after a long hike, especially at night when the stars were out. Overall the cabin was clean and had everything we needed apart from the upstairs bathroom, there was still trash in the trash can and hair on the bathtub. Other than that we had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

Shelter in the Storm
We LOVED the house, view, and area. Tropical Storm Debby came through & we weathered it out at the Chalet, and it was beautiful to see. Check-in was a breeze, and we enjoyed the town of Luray & exploring the area! Perfect get-away!

The house was adorable and perfectly clean with everything we needed. The hot tub was nice and evenings on the deck were amazing. The view is unreal. Cute places to eat in Luray nearby. Drive to the national park not too bad :) we loved our weekend.

Perfect
We spent a week at the Chalet in early June, and it was perfect. The view from the front room/deck is unforgettable. The view was equally compelling in the early morning light and the evening dusk, in the night when the valley below was illuminated by hundreds of fireflies, and when a curtain of heavy rain slowly crossed the mountains before reaching the house. From the deck we saw lots of deer and a raccoon. The deck gets full bright sun in the early morning, but there is a second outdoor space by the parking that is wonderfully shaded and is perfect for outdoor breakfast (and has a fire pit). There are other houses nearby but you can barely see them, and they were quiet the whole time we were there. It was easy to get to Luray (I recommend Hawksbill Brewing and the Asian Station), to the Thornton entrance of the National Park and the State Park, and to the river. Don't forget your linens, including towels. For us it was absolutely perfect; I can't think of anything that could have made it any better.

Nice property, but the amenities were not up to par
We stayed for a total of 4 nights. Our first reaction when we pulled in was that the road was a gravel road and on a very steep hill, which is definitely not stated on the listing. The outside and inside of the cabin is nice and I would say clean. The only reason I would give this cabin such a low rating was because of the amenities… and the wasp nest on the deck. We were trying to enjoy the hot tub outside and had to cut it short because a carpenter bee was digging itself a home inside the cabin wood directly next to the wasp nest. My friend is allergic to bees and wasps… so this is not ideal. Another thing is the $50 linens. I was under the assumption that because I was spending $50 on linens that they would provide the sheets needed for both bedrooms, but only provided sheets for 1 bed and pillow covers for 2 pillows. The towels and wash cloths provided were great though, but definitely need to up their game with the sheets. The sheets were also not put on the beds, but rather put in a laundry basket in the bathroom. We drove 7 hours to the cabin and were dead tired and went to go to bed and there was no sheets on the bed. As someone who just drove 7 hours to a cabin, that was really infuriating. Pots and pans were provided which was awesome, as well as plates, cups, bowls, and silverware, but no measuring cups were provided. 1 roll of paper towels and 1 roll per bathroom of toilet paper were provided, but no tissues were provided. Overall not the worst cabin.

Perfect weekend getaway
The Chalet is perfect for a small group of friends to get away for a few days. The house is well appointed, the beds are super comfy, and the views unbeatable. It’s secluded while also easy to access, and near a lot of great hiking. This will be our weekend trip rental whenever we can get it!

weekday getaway
we did a short trip, april 9-11th. The weather was wonderful but with that came the bugs, bees, and other flying critters! Not too bad for the most part. the screened in porch was wonderful to have and the hot tub offered a wonderful view of the mountains. We tried to have a fire with the wood provided but struggled with it not lighting after several attempts, next time we would bring our own wood. We did have a power outage for a few hours but was soon resolved. overall we had a wonderful time and loved the privacy this location offered!

Modest
The property was okay and well kept. However, it was dated (shower, kitchen, porch and outside chairs). WiFi and TV good. We needed to bring our own linens, and there were no towels. Nor were there logical necessities like aluminum foil and saran wrap. While the area and the mountains are quite beautiful, the cabin is somewhat remote, and there is no level ground if you’re traveling with pets. There were continuous flies in the home, perhaps because of time of year, April. Communicating with Derek was difficult and not constructive. I’d give it a C+ overall. We would not stay there again.

Nice getaway 90 minutes from DC
I planned a trip out here with my wife while we had some time off to travel. She loved the Chalet, which I had picked out for our vacation. The property was very clean upon our arrival and easy to access. Everything worked that we used, including the hot tub, oven, stove, and new electric fireplace in the TV room. I read some older reviews before our trip that said some of the appliances didn't work and/or were outdated, we found that everything was in working order as of our trip! (Early Spring 2024) It's a 15-20 minute drive to Luray Caverns, and just past that there is a Wal-Mart where we picked up some groceries for our stay. Several National Parks are also in close proximity. We would definitely stay at The Chalet again, it's a quiet and relaxing place to spend a couple of days.

Relaxing
The Chalet is beautiful and we had a great time connecting and relaxing and exploring the area. The views were spectacular. Only 2 negatives in a way, we were using the outside fire pit and charcoal grill and the moths were insane and we would go inside and multiple would fly in with us and the TV was not hooked up with Chromecast and Netflix (we could put our own info in) but location or TV room we didn't spend much time in it anyway. Overall it was fantastic!

Thanksgiving in the mountains
We stayed for a week in the Chalet over Thanksgiving. The wifi was excellent for our daughter to work remotely while we were here. Morning light was beautiful in the living room as well as the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from one of the bedrooms. We headed into Luray for morning runs at a delightful river walk in the town. The Chalet is perched on a steep hill. So, running around the cabin was challenging. We hiked at Shenandoah National Park a few times. And we relaxed in the outdoor hot tub many evenings. The full moon and stars were lovely. The outdoor firepit was an added bonus. We prepared all of our meals at the Chalet. While the kitchen was adequately supplied, the oven temperature fluctuated widely. It was very frustrating. The Chalet was clean, but somewhat outdated. Overall it was very good stay!

Peaceful, clean, and comfortable. Perfect getaway.
The property is well maintained. It is off the beaten path which makes it very peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to many attractions in the larger area. The views from the main living area, porch, and master bedroom are spectacular. We even saw a few deer making their way around the neighborhood. The hot tub and fire pit are very nice amenities, and the entire cabin is very clean. This was a really perfect getaway - I would absolutely return to this property in the future. One small note for future guests - if you do opt to pay the $50 for the linens, you do have to put them on the bed yourself. They will be in a laundry basket upon arrival.

Beautiful place
We loved the place- the main floor has a great view, with plenty of sitting room and a nice kitchen along with hot tub. It was just two of us with our dog and we really enjoyed it. We had to fight some bees outside and make a little barrier for our dog as it’s a small walkway but otherwise we spent majority of our time outside. The only downside was the cost for linens and only the reminder when you book. I booked 4 months ago and I definitely didn’t remember so it meant a trip to town. Not a big deal but it isn’t listed in anything else on the site. Otherwise- it was wonderful and we loved everything about the cabin! We will definitely be back!

Nice place, clean, comfortable, quiet, easy to find using GPS, great view in autumn. Bring charcoal for weber grill, wood for outdoor fire pit. Has a gravel area by the entrance for dog to go “out” on leash. We had a relaxing time.
