Just a fishing cabin in the woods...
But it is on a quiet point on beautiful Big Rideau Lake, part of the historic Rideau Canal system, where the fishing runs 24/7! Insulated, cozy, lots of space for kids to play. Dock space for one boat, and a canoe included. This is a paddler's paradise, and a true nature-lover's getaway. Two bedrooms, bathroom with tub. On a quiet cottage road 5 minutes to Portland, and just an hour's drive to Kingston or Ottawa. Pet friendly.

Great little cabin to escape to for the weekend. Enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed plus a cozy wood stove for the chilly spring nights. Thank you!
Was nice, but the weather was not, and sorry the table cloth got a burn hole in it, I will pay for it, thank you I would go back but in nice weather..ken
This was our third year visiting this lovely cabin with all the needed modern necessities. Always clean and welcoming, our get away was peaceful, and hassle free. Loved having a canoe to use and a well stocked kitchen for the best meals. We will return.
We had a very pleasant time at Moore haven. Liz is a great host, very caring. The place is so charming and is particularly well equipped. We will come back ⚡️
This is the second time I stayed at Moorehaven. Its a beautiful spot right on the water. The cabin is very well equipped and is private. Its a simple little slice of paradise.
This adorable cabin was in a beautiful spot surrounded by nature and quite. It had everything we needed. Elizabeth and Jane were very welcoming and responsive.
We will definitely come back next year!
A comfortable and cozy cottage. Lots of light in the interior and the back deck is more spacious then you might expected from photos. Well appointed kitchen and nice new BBQ.
Great area for exploring, especially if you like history and the outdoors.
We were so very impressed by everything, from the cleanliness of the cottage, to its location! It was so peaceful and we loved the choices of seating, as we had different views depending on where we positioned the chairs. (Water, deck, backyard). We will definitely be back next year!
We had a lovely time and the cabin has everything that one needs. The only thing we missed were some fishing rods. But besides that we enjoyed sitting on the dock, canoeing , sitting around the camp fire and being surrounded by nature. Thank you for this amazing experience, Jane and Elizabeth.

This was our first experience of renting a cottage. An awesome experience and has certainly set the bar high for any other future choices! The kitchen was a huge surprise to make some great meals. Such a warm and inviting property. Great memories for sure!!!
We really enjoyed staying at the Moorehaven Cabin. It was super adorable, provided everything for our little family. It definitely gave my husband and I a nostalgic feel of when we were little. We loved how rustic it was and how serene it all felt. Great first experience for our little one!
Thank you so much!
What a cosy, comfortable place! We enjoyed the lake, the cottage, and the surrounding area to explore. The cottage is a real "home away from home". Details in the cottage give the impression of someone taking the time and thought to make you feel 'at home'. Thank you for a wonderful place! We hope to be back! Thank you Liz and Jane!
This quaint property on Rideau Lake was the perfect choice for our 20 year anniversary getaway. My husband is an avid fisherman and the lake was more than accomodating. It's not a swimming area but there are close beaches for a dip in the water. Friendly locals, fun close shopping, great Poutine - a memorable stay, made even better by the hosts who gifted us with wine and cheese at our arrival. Excellent value with the private yard, deck, and lake access. And our lab was welcome too!
Everything you needed was available and we were pleasantly greeted with a fresh bouquet of peonies from the garden. Jane and Elizabeth helped us sort out our technology issues upon arrival and were very kind and patient until all was well. We loved sitting on the dock and fishing during the day to pass the time and relax. Nice way to start the summer!
We loved our stay! The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our trip away. Morning visits from the hummingbirds and the evening visits from the bats were really cool to see. If you're planning on doing any real fishing you’ll want to bring your own boat however, although my 3yr old daughter did reel in her first fish! Ask about the shared swimming spot too. I found that info out from the neighbor but not until our last night. Great spot to get away
This was a very relaxing location. It's better than what you see in the picture. Everything was supplied. All we had to bring was our food and booze. We are looking forward in coming back real soon. Thank you for renting your little fishing cabin to 4 deserving people who needed to get away from all that's going on with the world today. Thanks Jane and Liz
It was my sister and I that stayed at the cottage for a week at the end of September. The cottage was small and cozy, which is what we like. We had a beautiful week of great weather and we loved the fact that the cottage was on a wetland. We like to swim if we can, but we enjoyed the water fowl very much. Geese and ducks and even herons. It was a very pretty spot. We arrived a little early and the owner was still there and it was very nice to meet her. A great stay all around. Judy.
