A sitting-out area at the rear of the cottage makes for pleasant, peaceful evenings after busy days exploring.
Only a short walk away from the centre of Reeth, there is a local village shop, bakery, tea shops, cafés and a popular pub that serves great quality food. There is also a small gallery and gift shop selling hand-made Yorkshire crafts which make the perfect take home gift for friends and family. Situated right in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, guests will find great views of Swaledale reaching out as far as the eye can see. There are many public footpaths and cycle paths that lead right from the heart of the village and out into Swaledale, Wensleydale and nearby Arkengarthdale, and offer magnificent views, unspoilt countryside, river walks and woodland areas that are packed full of natural wildflower meadows, flora, fauna and wildlife.
A little further afield but still within easy driving distance, guests will be able take a trip out to one of the larger villages and towns in the area, including Leyburn, 10 miles, and Middleham, 12 miles. Castle Bolton, West Burton and Harmby, all popular tourist destinations, offer weekly farmers’ markets selling local produce and goods. The popular market town of Richmond is only a 15-minute drive away, with its cobbled streets, top-quality restaurants, bistros and coffee shops, as well as antique shops, art galleries and a small cinema. The historic cathedral cities of Durham and York can also be reached within an hour and a half drive, and are certainly worth a day trip. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
