A gem of a find in the hills above La Spezia
Driving up the coast we booked this via hotel.com on the afternoon of our stay and it was a real gem of a find. Situated in the hills above La Spezia it's a delightfully rustic and charming family run hotel and the rate, given the quality of our stay, was pretty amazing. Our room was fairly spacious with en suite bathroom and glorious views from the window across the hills and the wifi was very good in the room and on the patio. The drive up to the hotel is via a narrow winding road but there's room enough at the summit for parking and a very short walk to the hotel and up the steps to the rooms. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, despite a language barrier that wasn't really a problem at all, giving us maps to the local area outlining some of the best excursions. I really wish we'd found the place earlier and could happily have spent a few days here, but sadly had to dash north the next day to Milan. Our stay fell on my birthday and I can't think of a better place to spend it. I would most definitely give make a return visit. 10/10

Beautiful secluded gem!
We booked the room last minute for an unexpected overnight stay. The host was very accommodating to our request for a late check in. The place is beautiful, quaint, comfortable. The host even went out of her way to find us a bottle of wine late at night when we arrived. Nice breakfast in the morning. Would definitely recommend this little hidden gem.

Great Host
The hotel has everything you need, the only thing is the location, it is a beautiful area but it's far, we had a good experience because the Owner was a great host and offered to pick up/drop off us at La Spezia Central Station EVERY DAY (Thank God, because taxis are €25 each way), otherwise you will need a car to reach the hotel.

Best property of the region
Absolutely stunning property, very clean, topical house of the region, very cute and relaxing. We always go to big names chain hotels. And this one beat them all with it's character. Ones you are there you have to visit portovenere. It's the best of Italian riviera.

Isolated
As the hotel said no parking, we had no car. It is a $25 Euro cab from LaSpezia train depot. Lovely setting however it is 15 min auto ride to town. Minimal bkfst at hotel and no food or drink service otherwise. Hotel Mgr speaks no English and is only person there. Minimal wifi svc in portions of building. Lovely spot to be totally alone and enjoy peace and quiet..otherwise find somewhere else.

A great find but hard to find
Great place when you out find it it took me just 2 hours and 5 chat with locals. In the end a very nice man jumped in his car and I followed him for 10 minutes up a very small road to the top of the hill. The owner could not have been nicer. Interesting place

Perfecto!!!!!
The best location to stay if you visit La Spezia or Cinque Terre with family. Located up on a hill top free from the hustle and bustles of Vehicular movements and the possibility to woke up to the live orchestra conducted by the Birds and the winds from the woods. The host is really a helpful lady and very caring. Things will be much easier if you have a Car as the location is situated on the top of an hill and public transport is not available after 6.30 PM from La Spezia. We arrived with out a car in the late night and found us very lucky to get help from the kind host who took her car out just to pick us up to the accommodation and also drove us local restaurant in La Spezia for the Dinner in the late night. Perfect place to spend a vacation.

Never ever
Never ever same hotel! False info, false advertizing, wrong address on booking confirmation, bad indications on the road, nobody to welcome you at reception, lost entire day on the area, had to relocalize in real time! Please refund!

For Adventurous Romantics
Most memorable stay of our 4 week vacation. Will have a wealth of stories to share with friends. Reaching this location should only be attempted in daylight with a GPS and preferably a small car. Very rustic and romantic with great views. Roomy with modern baths cleverly and tastefully added. Breakfast was delicious and with a scenic overlook from the mountain through a window lined with flowers. Perfect place for the most adventurous romantic couple.

Rustic and beautiful
The hotel was beautiful and rustic with gorgeous views and friendly staff. This is not the place to stay if you want to be in the lap of luxury (air conditioning, lots of space, a concierge who speaks English). If you are looking for a traditional Italian B&B, then you will love this hotel! The hotel is located about 30 minutes from Cinque terre and you need a car if you plan to stay here. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Adorable place to stay
This hotel is set away about 15 minutes from La Spezia, near Cinque Terre, in the hillsides. Even though you're not on the water, the view is no less spectacular! I loved staying here and would do it again in a heart beat. Not a good option to stay at this hotel if you don't have a car. It is not near any public transit, as it is up on a hillside. Thankfully, I was ona a road trip, but not everyone who was staying there at the time was in the same boat. The wifi was also a bit weak unless you are standing in the hallway. The owners/managers are all incredibly sweet, but it does help if you speak at least a little Italian, or enough Spanish to understand what's going on, since their English is not very strong.

Rustic and Romantic
This is for you if you want a romantic getaway in the countryside. This is really a hermitage not a hotel and is part of a very old historic structure on top of a hill. .It is a challange to find your way there and without the GPS we would have been lost .Be sure not to get the room above the restaurant as there is lots of noise till late at night .The restaurant serves excellent local food . There is no parking and you have to park on the side of a steep and narrow road and carry your luggage up 65 stairs.

Away from it all ... Exotic experience
What a great experience. A little hard to find and parking on the side of a narrow country road. I wouldn't hesitate returning though. Great room and private bathroom. Window looks out into an amazing view of hills above Cinque Terra (no ocean view). Attached restaurant served very good food and reasonable prices.

A lovely stay at a charming location
The hotel is better described as a B&B - it has a relaxed approach (we arrived to find a note on the door saying the owner only opens for check-in between 3pm and 7pm). But the place almost feels like a family home for all that and the owner couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. It's a very pretty place with gorgeous views over the hills. You definitely need a car as it is quite a way from the nearest town (La Spezia) - however parking is just on the side of the extremely narrow road. The room was very nice and clean. We were allowed to bring our own food to have an evening picnic in the courtyard which was very nice (the restaurant, except for breakfast, was closed). It is great value for money, importantly. We had a lovely stay here.

Remote village
We enjoyed our time there. We were surprised at how remote the village is and there are no stores but it is within hiking distrance of the upper trails above Cinque Terre. The terrace was beautiful with flowers and the view.

Quiet getaway
It was a lovely and calm location but too far from the city. Definitely need a car to get around town. Rosella was fabulous and very generous in her time. The room was spacious and very clean. Great place to relax.

Quite isolated but very quiet.
Quite isolated. As we were the only guests the dining room was not available for dinner (understandable) so we had to drive 20 km to find a restaurant and found La Spezia a very modern town very confusing to drive in to. Breakfast was European standard (cafe, croissants, jam, pastry). La Laconda was very well kept and clean but hard to get luggage up the many steps to the room. The only parking was on the end of the mountain road with very limited parking spaces and quite a long way to get the luggage to the hotel. Very polite and attentive staff person but with very limited English.

Great people, terrible location
Beautiful hotel located way off the beaten path. Wonderful people, nice service, decent breakfast. The only problem we had was the location. Unless you have a car do not book this hotel. It is close to the train station by car, but unaccessible except by taxi if you don't have one. The owner kindly drove us to the station, but to save some headaches get something closer if you're without a vehicle.
