Thimbleberry Cabin near Mt. Hood with Hot Tub

We are so glad to share our cabin in the woods with you! Our home is nestled in the moss and wondrous forest of historic Rhododendron. Completely surrounded by nature, but just 15 minutes to Mt. Hood and with plenty of restaurants, shops, and hiking within a few miles.

There is a gas fireplace and plenty of cozy spots to sit and read a book or stare out the windows at the mossy forest. This is the ultimate cabin in the woods, with WIFI and proximity to all that Mt. Hood has to offer.

The cabin is fully equipped with gas fireplace, full kitchen, bathroom, WIFI, speaker system, and Roku TV for streaming.

Our main goal, however, in designing the home is to give you a comfortable place to sit and relax in nature. It's the perfect sort of place to read a book, play board games, enjoy a beverage, or listen to music.

The home sleeps 2-4 people. The main place to sleep is a cozy sleeping nook (a small bedroom with a curtain door) that has a queen bed. The secondary sleeping area is a loft accessible by ladder. It is not suitable for small children or people with limited mobility.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PARKING: There is only parking for ONE CAR at the cabin. The spot only fits one car and there is NO STREET PARKING on the street whatsoever.

The hot tub is there for your enjoyment. We just ask that you keep noise to minimum to keep the neighborhood a quiet and serene place.

We are in a quiet neighborhood in the woods, but there are a handful of neighboring homes on our little street.

Perfect Spot
We stayed for 2 nights and it was perfect! A cute little cabin was all we needed. The location was close to our hiking areas there is a market very close by. The hot tub was very relaxing after our long hikes. We would definitely recommend to anyone heading to Rhododendron!

Cozy getaway
Exactly what we aere looking for! A perdect location to unplug, slow down, and enjoy my partners company. We watched the snow fall from the warmth of the hot tub, enjoyed easy meals snuggled up by the fire, and had a very peaceful stay. Would highly recommend! Opening the door was a little sticky, but that was the hardest part of the trip! Womderful stay.

Incredible Hosts and Home!
Starting from the beginning, Michelle was great and communicating when the home had no power because of recent wind storms. It’s the mountain, it’s been snowing here in Portland, we figured it would be messy getting up there. PGE didn't have an estimated time that the power would go back on so we stayed in touch throughout the day. Michelle informed us that we would get a full refund EVEN IF WE WAITED TILL OUR CHECK IN TIME to cancel OR if we waited till the next day in hopes the power would come back on. Most wouldn’t do that! She even approved us of staying at least our second night if the power turned back on and it finally did! We arrived the next day to the fire place on, the heaters going, and the coziest cabin we could ask for after a day riding the mountain. Michelle even offered us half our refund for only staying the one night! We appreciated all her accommodations and the cleaners making it toasty warm before we even got there. I will definitely rent this place out again.

Perfect place to recharge your batteries!
It was everything I hoped for. Charming, clean, and cozy but most importantly for me, QUIET. The property manager was friendly, quick to respond, and helpful. The bed is SUPER comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, and there are little "extras" everywhere like games, fan, heater, whatever you need. I was so happy I chose this one. :) Highly recommend!

Relaxing Getaway!
Thimbleberry is just so quaint and the perfect getaway for the weekend. It's relaxing and you have everything you might need! A great location that's tucked away from the highway, but close enough to visit restaurants, grocery, etc. and not so far from the various scenic/hiking areas. Highly recommend!

Cutest secluded cabin
My fiancé have been together for a year now, and we decided to take a little getaway. This cabin exceeded our expectations! It was so cute, had everything we could possibly need and made us feel at home! We loved the cozy living room, the hot tub and having our coffee on the back deck every morning. The communication from the owner was amazing! We will be back again!

This cabin is super cute. It is very small but even with 4 adults and a dog it didn’t feel cramped at all! There are lots of fun games to play in the dinning room and the hot tube was clean and worked great!! The hosts communicated well and the minimal clean up requirements let us really enjoy our last morning there. We had lots of fun and are planning on coming back next year!!!

Comfy bed and great hot tub
We enjoyed the comfy bed and great hot tub at this location. It had what we needed to make breakfast while on our ski trip. We won’t be back due to the foul smell of stale smoke. It made my head/stomach hurt and prevented me from sleeping the first night. If you’re sensitive to smells, skip this place.

Great trip!
This cabin is SO cute!! Very clean and Cody. The only reason I took off a star for the location/neighborhood is because of the parking situation. We have a 4x4 truck and while it “fit” it was a CHALLENGE!

Felt like more information was needed...
This is a nice (very small) cabin. The ad is accurate with respect to the inside of the cabin (e.g., sleeping "nook", small loft) but where it came up short was describing the outside. So, I wanted to mention a few things for future renters: 1) the property is on a one lane dirt road; for us staying in the winter that meant mud and potholes and unloading our belongings in the mud (there is no concrete parking, etc.); 2) there is one small parking space that is not close and 2 flights of stairs from the door; 3) the neighbors do not appreciate that there is an VRBO in their area and are not nice to renters (not something the owner can control but guests should know); 4) it is always much appreciated that pets are welcome but renters should know there is no where to walk your dog (mud aside, the roads are narrow, no sidewalks, and neighbors have aggressive dogs that run the fences along the road and bark at you constantly (again the owner can't do anything about this; 5) there is not a way to access the property without going up 2 flights of stairs and there is no overhang in front of the door so you have to stand in the rain to remove your shoes, etc.; 6) if you are sensitive to mold this is not the place for you (there are leaks under cabinets and dehumidifiers running constantly). Many of these things cannot be controlled by the owner but are all things that I wished I had known prior to staying here.

Sweet getaway in crowded woods
The cabin was very cute and a great getaway place to be lazy and lounge around. We listened to music, watched movies, and chilled. Instructions on how to use all the equipment was great. My only complaint is that there wasn't a lot of privacy. Only the bedroom and bathroom had curtains. Looking out of the windows you were always looking into someone else's house or property. Both of the decks are very exposed. I envisioned going on walks with this place, but there was absolutely no way to do that. You would need to drive to a trailhead instead. It's the perfect place to stay if you want to be inside all the time or if you will intentionally be going other places and want to be inside when you get back.

Just what I needed
Property was as advertised, very clean and well thought out. The photos and description were very accurate and everything was great. Well stocked with everything you need. For late arrivals stop at the store just down 26 for coffee in am. WiFi was consistent, big tv with a million channels. I was in for a wedding and the cabin was super quiet, allowed me a place to go nap. Dense forest, so middle of the day you almost have to leave the living room lights on (hence the naps)

A perfect stay near Mount Hood!
We had the best time staying in this beautiful rustic but renovated cabin! We had everything we needed and more. We just used the bedroom and not the loft since it was just the two of us but I could see how fun it would be especially for children to sleep in the loft. The bathroom is fully renovated and was super clean. The kitchen had everything you would need for a short or long stay. The location was so central for us. We hiked on several trails within 20 minutes of the house. We also spent time visiting the Timberline lodge on Mount Hood which was just 15 minutes away. We also visited some wineries near Hood River which were less than an hour. Communication with the host was really easy. She responded to my texts very quickly. The keyless entry made it convenient to enter and exit easily. It does get dark outside the house at night (no streetlights) so make sure you have a flashlight or your phone handy to walk up the steps after parking.

Politely Pass, Not a Pleasant Stay
We were not happy with this property. Significant amount of mice droppings in the loft area. Cleanliness overall was poor. The parking space is not sufficient for a full-sized SUV - had to park at neighbor’s house all week. Overall, we were unhappy with the stay and were glad to leave.
