It's also an international Dark Sky Park for those who love stargazing. Take it easy with a mooch around the historic market town of Rhayader (5 miles), where you can pick up slabs of Bara brith or pop into one of the cafes, pubs and restaurants for a bite to eat. Avid birdwatchers can get their fill with the Gilfach Nature Reserve (3.5 miles), while the Red Kite Feeding Centre is a mere 5.5 miles away. Visit Llanidloes the source of river seven and Hafen Forest which has a range of waterfall walks. The Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells (15 miles) boasts a golf club, a Heritage Trail and its namesake spa facilities.
Enter the front door and unlace your walking boots in the generous hallway. Turn right into the kitchen, where you'll discover a light and bright area to make your favourite group meals. With a breakfast bar and all the equipment you could need, this contemporary space is a joy to cook in. Serve up at the adjacent dining table, which comfortably seats ten, and continue the festivities as you open up the bi-folding doors and let the outside in. The seating area is charming, with pillowy sofas and a Smart TV for everyone's viewing. Back out in the hallway sits a cosy, snug room featuring a wood burner and French doors leading out to the garden, ideal for little guests. Finishing off the downstairs is the WC. At bedtime, walk up the stairs to the first floor, where you'll find a master bedroom with a fitted wardrobe, a TV, and a king zip-and-link bedroom. The family bathroom is also on this floor and boasts a separate shower and bath. On the second floor, discover a utility room with a terrace for drying clothing, while down the hall sits a double room with an en-suite shower room. Climb the stairs to the third floor to find a double bedroom with a TV, and a king bedroom followed by another family shower room.
The home's outside area is impressive and is likely to be the social hub during fine days. Whip up pizzas and bake in the pizza oven before dining beside the babbling river (take care as this area is not fenced).
