"Waratah on York is the perfect place to stay if you like old world charm with the convenience of a contemporary bathroom. The staff were supper helpful with suggestions on where to find a delicious meal or tourist attractions. As mentioned in previous reviews, the outside and inside steps may be a challenge for elderly or disabled guests but there are rooms downstairs so be sure to mention any medical conditions on booking and I am sure Pia will be happy to assist you. "This was a friendly, cozy hotel with great staff and a congenial atmosphere. The food at breakfast was great, as was the environment. The rooms were entirely adequate, though you won't call them luxurious. Overall, it was a great stay with a uniquely warm vibe."

"Great old ex convent conversion. Location perfect. Quiet location off Frederick St but 10 minute walk into city. 5 min drive to Cataract Gorge. Owner James really helpful with information. "

"A lovely charming quaint "heritage" room. New, clean & large bathroom. Great location & easy parking. Lovely doors to garden. Bed looked old but was very comfortable. But would recommend repacing carpet!"

"We stayed at the property over Christmas, upon arrival we were delighted to find out that the place had been nicely decorated for Christmas. The property is as nice as it looks on the picture. Sauna was the main hit for us but we also used jacuzzi and had some marshmallows at the bonfire.By far it was the nicest place we stayed in, while in Tasmania."
