About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Luxurious Hobbit Hole and Second Breakfast!

If you want to experience the comfort of a hobbit hole in a beautiful setting, this is your next destination! From the moment you walk through our round doors, you'll be pampered with rich furnishings, a cozy king-sized bed, spacious shower, plush bathrobes and unique details. Second breakfast is included! Inspired by Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry to his friends), it features the rich tones of Meduseld and the wood and stone of Fanghorn forest.
We have four unique hobbit holes in our little Shire. Walk through the round door and you’re in your very own hobbit hole. You’ll have the sitting room (complete with wood-burning stove), kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom all to yourself. Four windows let in plenty of natural light, and the 11-foot ceilings make the whole place feel open and airy. Every detail is designed to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Aside from your room, you’ll have access to the fire pit and walking trails on our property. In short, our home is the only part of the property not available to guests. We welcome the opportunity to meet you in person, share tips on local adventures and meet any special needs you may have during your stay. At a minimum, I'll deliver Second Breakfast to your room and say hello then! If you simply want to enjoy your privacy, just put out the "No Admittance Except on Party Business" sign.
Our 40 acre property is on a private road, close to highway 299, but far enough away to eliminate almost all noise. Low light pollution means great opportunities for stargazing at night. You'll hear birds all day and the occasional coyote pack in the distance at night, but that's about all! You'll need a car to get to and from our property. We have plenty of outdoor parking near the rooms, but not right in front. We're glad to help with luggage when you arrive or leave.

Pure Magic
From the moment you pull up to the Hobbit Hole you begin to notice all of the care and detail that make this space so magical. The hosts are on the premise and are so kind and make you feel so welcome, so at home. Opening the door to your room is like opening the door to a new world. You genuinely feel like you have stepped foot into a Tolkien novel. The space was so warm and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and delicious coffee! Second breakfast was better than any restaurant breakfast we've ever had- beautiful and delicious. If you have an opportunity to stay here you will be SO glad you did! It's an experience we'll never forget and we would definitely love to come back any stay in all the different rooms!

A gem!
Burrowdale is a gem -- a collection of stunning hobbit homes that are high end, plush, and thoughtfully detailed -- all nestled into a gorgeous countryside. We delighted in the sound of crickets, the smell of sweet grasses, the Milky Way overhead, and the generous breakfast. My tall husband was delighted by the large shower which was helpfully elf-lord sized. We have raved about this stay to everyone and only regret we didn't have more time to sink into the experience. Don't hesitate to book, this is a treat.
