"I loved the property and the staff, I did not like the fact that there’s no AC and the power is on from 6-10 pm we were in the dark in the morning and the bathroom was super dark and cold water only. "

Hospedaje Tipico El Retiro - Hostel

2.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very Good, (1)
"Great few days spent here! I recommend staying 2-3 nights... depending on when you arrive, because I highly recommend Semuc Champey and the bat caves (Grutas de Lanquin) which are hard to do in the same day. El Retiro made meals and excursions very worry-free. My only negatives would be the lack of hot water and the cleanliness of the bed, room. It wasn’t very dirty... just wasn’t very clean. Overall a very enjoyable few days spent in Lanquin."

No purified water forcing you to buy plastic bottles in the rainforest. Also they will pick you up at Lanquín and bring you to property but charge you to return and increase the agreed price once...
