"The property has been beautifully furnished and is very charming. It’s handy for the town centre and the Brewery Arts Centre. We’d recommend the Moon restaurant and The Fell bar on Lowther Street. Parking is not convenient or available and we were disappointed that the parking permit we were promised was not available when we arrived. "We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. "The house was everything we needed, opposite a pub and the swimming pool. The villagers were very friendly and helpfull, especially in the swimming pool. Unfortunately the internet stopped working on the third day but the rental company responded out of hours to help sort it out.."

"This hotel is an absolute hidden gem and the perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas. The views are nothing short of picturesque, and there are plenty of peaceful nature walks right on the doorstep. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with an incredible attention to detail that makes every corner worth exploring. Each room is uniquely decorated, cosy, and full of character—truly a home away from home. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, ideal whether you’re enjoying a relaxed meal or just stopping in for a drink. What really makes this place special, though, are the owners—so warm and welcoming, they instantly make you feel like part of the family. Can’t wait to come back! "
