Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
I stayed Windsor Lodge with my daughter in June 2022. This is a Heritage property and renovated long back. The rooms are spaces and staff is very friendly. The problem is rooms are very old, stinking, linen and bed not good condition. Old style TV, bathroom, network issues away from the city. This Property needs immediate renovation.

Rooms were comfortable if a little damp maybe due to being out of season. The building in the picture you don't stay in. Laundry came back wet as it was just hungover a balcony. Gym wasn't in use. Staff and food were good. Probably best hotel in area

EXCELLENT PROPERY TO RELAX IN
Windsor Lodge Is a cosy hotel right next to the Ranikhet Golf course .The positives are large , well appointed rooms , excellent service , view of the Himalayas in winter . Rooms have air conditioning which is rare in Ranikhet and useful in the day in summer months . Ideal location for long walks and relaxing . The only negative is high food prices though I must add the food is really good

Caring staff, old world charm, relax.
We only stayed 3 nights and could happily have stayed longer. Sadly when we arrived my son had picked up a bug prior to arriving. Twice the staff asked if we needed a doctor (we had brought own meds) and when I went out they popped in to check my son was ok and made him tea. The room we had was spacious, well-furnished and comfortable. We had a small balcony with an attractive outlook over the pine forest and a Himalaya view. Just the place to sit quietly with a cup of tea and relax. The room was well stocked with tea and coffee, the tea was Twinings, so a decent cuppa was possible. The hotel maintained the charm of a bygone age with furnishing and artefacts that enhanced that aura. Old photos of the original owners (The Shah family) and a history of the hotel added further interest. We were shown one of the unoccupied suites and it was very impressive. The food was beautifully cooked and delicious and the chef was happy to spice each dish according to individual taste, a memorable Mutton Biryani! However a word of warning the portions are very generous and are intended for sharing. A rice a meat and a dhal between two of us would have easily fed three and probably four comfortably. We ate in for most meals and I was pleasantly surprised by the modest bill when we checked out. The location is superb with easy access to beautiful pine forest walks and superb views including the Himalayas. Ranikhet is a few minutes away by car or about one and a quarter hours stroll, taxis are
