"The self check in was very easy. Everything was very clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Iceland. Everything was hot and delicious. We loved that they had a self-serve coffee machine with lots of options for different hot drinks. The exterior of the hotel could use a refresh. I would advise not to “judge a book by its cover.” We definitely were not impressed by the front of the hotel but were very pleased with our stay overall. It’s a very convenient location for seeing the waterfalls and doing other glacier activities. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant at their sister hotel, Hotel Skogafoss."

"We made last-minute reservations and loved this charming property. We had excellent communication with our hosts prior to checking in and excellent service once we arrived. Even got a piece of fresh apple cake! We stayed in the Haytower and it was absolutely wonderful, even down to having the northern lights on display. It was by far the best bathroom we’re had all trip."

"We have a lovely one night stay at Skalakot. It’s very charming, simple hotel in beautiful surroundings. The bed was comfy and the shower was good. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The spa was small but nice, gets quite cramped if there are more than 4 people in there. I think it would benefit from an outdoor hot tub. Dinner was nice, breakfast was ok. "
