The VRBO is quaint, situated between downtown Ramona and Julian. Highly recommend a car with some clearance that can handle unpaved roads. The cabin surprisingly packs a punch within its 200 square feet. We appreciated the small details - a heater outside in the sitting area, a stocked kitchen for cooking, and lovely suggestions from the host. However, the lack of storage space for our bags and toiletries proved to be an uncomfortable experience. The space is definitely intended for one or at max, two people.
The main reason for the average experience is the, in my opinion, excessive chore list we were required to complete "to avoid a cleaning fee". When I checked the breakdown of services, we were already charged AND paid for a cleaning fee. Per the host messages, we were expected to do some "light cleaning". Their definition of "light cleaning was "putting dirty linens and towels in the washer (and starting it), wiping down surfaces and pack and take your trash as well".
Upon arrival to the VRBO, we were met with a longer list of chores to complete. The list included taking the sheets off the bed, making the bed with new sheets (with picture instructions as to HOW the bed should be made), doing the laundry, sweeping the floors, and taking the trash with us to dispose of elsewhere.
There was also no hot tub, it was just a pool. If it was a hot tub, there were no directions provided on how to use it.
