"The rooms are in a converted cottage and have been nicely decorated and furnished. The building is old so you cannot escape the uneven floors/doors/windows etc whilst that gives a charm it is also brings a slight inconvenience in that the window could not be opened to allow for fresh air. "This was a perfect place to stop in Newark. The owners welcome you so warmly and you feel like you are family whilst there. The room was so lovely and the bath was wonderful. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the homemade marmalade was excellent. We certainly will go back there again. "

"The hotel is very tastefully decorated and modern the staff very helpful and friendly the food excellent and cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was right at the front off the hotel it did have modern double glazed windows but they were useless the traffic outside never stopped until after midnight and restarted around 4 am.I am quite a heavy sleeper but this had to be the worst night’s sleep I’ve experienced at a hotel, the bed looked lovely but we couldn’t turn over...

"I cannot recommend Marehay hall Farm and host Sharon highly enough. All of the the positive descriptions reviewing a B&B apply here. Whatever your expectations are they will surely be met and exceeded. If you are looking for a quiet oasis to relax and retreat from the hustle of daily life, this is it. The gardens are work in progress and offer the potential to make this a much saught after retreat location. Would we come back. Without a doubt! "

"My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of December in the Warren room and it was so comfortable! Ziz was the perfect host, what a lovely place the Sheriff Lodge is, close to town and 5 mins from a lovely nearby pub for an evening meal. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice, the homemade granola topped with fruit was the best! Overall a wonderful place to stay and we will return in the summer. It took over an hour for her to respond and all she could tell me was that she couldn't get ahold of her handyman. After 2 hours of waiting with no update from the handyman, we left. "Central location in nottingham with helpful staff and great room and hotel facilities (though not all are free). The Rooms were clean and beds were very comfy. I booked 3 rooms and all the bathrooms had a frosted glass door which was not the best for privacy. We also stayed at the weekend so there was quite a bit of noise from nearby night clubs. Overall a great stay and we would come back again if we do Nottingham again."

"Repeat visit to hotel and didn’t disappoint. Great room this time large and spacious with floor length windows dual aspect giving the room a bright outlook. Breakfast although relocated outside of the dining space was well catered for with excellent choice and variety to offer. "

"Was an ok stay for 2 nights, teas and coffees wernt topped up in the mornings. Room wasn't serviced, under the bed was absolutely disgusting, last guests vapes, splashes or drink up the walls, kettle still full of water, limescale all on shower taps. Large shower head was clogged, curtain rings broke. Was going to book an extra night but opted for another hotel "
