Young couple have recently taken over running the place and are enthusiastic and helpful. It{s in the zona rosa nightlife area of Quito, so perfect if you want to party. Downside of that is that there is some distant noise from nightclubs until well into the night, but not too close or annoying for most tired travellers. Hostal is homely and safe, rooms at back have small courtyard with plants where you can have breakfast. Good breakfast for price, with normal bread, jam, and coffee or tea supplemented by fruit and fresh juices. Comfortable beds, bathrooms clean but need a bit of maintenance, for example shower heads not perfect although always good pressure and hot water. Our multi bed room had one bunk bed that was a bit too tall so the top bunk was too close to the ceiling, so watch out for that, though we did not need to use it. Very fair price and really friendly and helpful management make this a great place to stay in this popular central area.

Will stay again if back in Quito.
Pros: -Conveniently located minutes from Plaza Foch. -Close to major bus routes. -30 minutes walk from Historic town. -Clean functional rooms. -Safe to stay and safe area around. -Quiet at night. -Excellent breakfast. -Free drinking water but tap water is also safe to drink in Quito. -Super fast internet but wi-fi signal could be better, Cons: -Really noisy starting 06:30 in the morning. -Bit cold at night but there is no heating anywhere in Quito.

Good deal in an active area
Good location for restaurants all so close. The owners are very nice and willing to help. The nights were noisy due to the bars and with the hostel being an older building it did not keep noise out. If you like hard firm mattress this will be fine. I do believe this is a good option for budget travelers that want a private bathroom. They do take credit cards but add an extra 10%.

Super deal for the price
Great staff, good breakfast and super location in the Plaza Foch area - the nightlife district. Walking distance to coffee shops and a great craft market. Easy location for tours (pick up and drop off - Plaza Foch).

Good for nightlife but noisy on weekends
You get what you pay for here. I had no hot water in room 12. They tried to fix it but unfortunately it still did not work. Because I was in a hurry, I ended up taking a shower in cold water. To be fair, I was offered another room but that was after I had already unpacked my bag and I was in a hurry. I was there on a Friday and due to all the bars around it gets very loud. I had trouble sleeping because of the constant sirens waking me up. They were nice enough to call me a car to drop me at the airport late at night and gave me a deal because of the inconvenience of the lack of hot water.

Perfect hostel, great location and facilities
Very charming, wood and natural tones, fully equipped rooms, walkways, decking and common areas. Plenty of space. Great location in the trendy part of town, close to both Florista and Mariscal. Individually cooked breakfast by the owner is fantastic. Just remember that expedia doesn't charge you so you have to pay before leaving the hostel...I almost walked out of there without paying, would have been terrible for the lovely owners.
