We had booked a 'mountain view' room, but were given a lake view room at no extra cost, and which saved us an extra flight of stairs to carry bags. The manager, who greeted us, was very friendly, helpful, and even insisted on helping us with one of our bags going upstairs. "This hotel was not a planned destination but we're glad we wound there. The room was large and very comfortable. Good bathroom. Not marble upscale, but clean and comfortable. The restaurant was quite good and fairly priced. Even the wines. I wouldn't give high grades to the breakfast but it was good not to be tempted to overeat,"

"We enjoyed our stay here -- it's a nice house with a great view, and we appreciated being able to use it as a base for exploring this part of the country. We had no concerns at all -- everything about the property was exactly as described. The remoteness is part of the appeal -- though it does mean that it's not easy to pop out to a shop for something you might have missed/forgotten. With good planning, it's a really appealing place."
