Cozy little getaway on a beautiful quiet secluded property with positive vibes!
This is a wonderful property tucked out-of-the way is a cozy home on a beautiful property overlooking the mountains, with a pool and a gazebo. The host is sweet and wonderful, and the home is warm and inviting while still being unique and quirky. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed being out in the property at night on the gazebo. If you're looking for a very chill and romantic place that's away from everything to disconnect and reconnect - while still being close to everything - I would definitely recommend!
So beautiful and relaxing. Maud is a wonderful hostess, we enjoyed the pool, gardens, birds and wildlife as well as some tips about places to visit. Breakfast is available and delicious but not included in the vrbo price. Fascinating artwork inside and landscaping on the grounds. Plus, a donkey lol. We will make this a regular visit.
Beautiful grounds, gracious hostess, very restful:-)
We loved our stay here and will definitely be back to stay in the Monet room. My wife loves art and there is no shortage of artwork here to appreciate! The pool area is a private oasis and Maud prepared a wonderful German style breakfast upon request that made my wife feel right at home:-)
Villa Maude is an exquisite jewel nestled in Virginia's "horse country" with a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I stayed in the Van Gogh room, and it was most comfortable. The host, Maude, was very accommodating. Darla, the dog, after a couple of obligatory barks (dutifully protecting the manse) was a real sweetheart. I was staying there to attend a social function nearby but have this place on my list to return to for more of an R&R stay. Quality always speaks for itself and this place has it!
Lovely property. Great location for exploring gorgeous Loudon County. Comfortable and very clean. I stayed in the Van Gogh room and enjoyed my conversations with Maud who is a talented artist. She made a delicious breakfast for an extra fee and wanted to make sure I was well taken care of.
Low key check in process, Maud was available but not intrusive, very pleasant. Shower head definitely needs to be replaced, very poor water pressure, but otherwise great stay.

Bed not Breakfast
I didn't realize until reading reviews once checking into the property that breakfast was not included. I didn't ask or communicate this so I'm not sure if it has changed since that review. I was looking forward to the traditional B&B experience but again I didn't ask so could be different now.
There was a miscommunication about which room we were staying in and a misleading description of the unit. The rooms are on the second floor in the owner's house and the "private bathroom" is in the hallway. I called and texted the owner when we arrived at check-in time to ask about which room we were in and didn't hear back for several hours, at which time we decided to stay elsewhere. In hindsight, I should have read the reviews more carefully, particularly the one describing the place as kind of "creepy." That sort of sums it up.

Unsanitary and unwelcoming.
My wife and I were celebrating our 5th yr anniversary and so excited to finally spend a weekend away, too. We found this property and thought it looked like a perfect get away. The drive was gorgeous. When we found the property, I stopped at the top of the driveway as I wasn't sure it was hard to see the address but when we determined it was correct, I pulled down into the driveway and backed my car into a space as per the manager's instructions. The instructions also said that there would be a key under the mat and how to enter which sounded great because we didn't want to come in contact with anyone given these COVID times. But instead, the manager came out the front door just as we were approaching and started lecturing us about how "my Jeep flew down the driveway" and how there is an elderly cat on the property. It was the most unfriendly, unwelcoming greeting we have ever received. There were instructions to drive in slow and I DID! I even stopped at the top of the driveway! My partner was shocked by her nasty greeting and said sorry (even though we came in slowy!) but the manager continued with "you really need to drive slow". She didn't even try to keep her distance from us or wear a face mask. She made sure we took off our shoes when we came in. We felt so deflated. Then, upon entering we were quickly turned off by the cluttered artwork everywhere. It reminded me of someone's private studio with stacks of canvases. Sorry, but as a visitor getting away to relax, I do not find clutter relaxing. The manager came up and got too close to us again as she wanted to show my partner how to use the thermostat. Put a mask on if you are going to approach us! The bathroom was the final straw. There was hair on the floor in multiple places. Sorry but during these times, cleanliness is more important than ever. We left within 15 minutes. The manager made us feel very uncomfortable. If you are that worried about your elderly cat, keep it inside or put an obvious sign at your entrance! Don't put the onus on your guests!!!
It was everything we needed. Our home has been under construction for the past 6 months and we just wanted to get away and sit by a pool all day alone for a long weekend.
No hotel could have matched this. It was perfect for us. A private oasis, but with a country store with food, bbq, good wine, good beer, and deli sandwiches literally .5 miles down a stone road from our room. It’s amazing. Plus wineries, breweries, cideries(?), distilleries are all abundant!
We asked if breakfast was an option and she provided the perfect custom order our first morning. Ah. I just can’t say enough great things about our stay.
The host was very attentive and sweet. She made sure I had everything I needed. Room was clean, bed was super comfortable! The view from the Van Gogh room was great!!
It was such an amazing experience. Will definitely book in the future!
The room we stayed in was in the Host's home. The room was supplied with everything we needed, and the bed/pillows were extremely comfortable. The view from our room was beautiful, and our Host recommended great places to eat and local wineries and breweries to visit!
Maud is amazing Host. You feel very welcome. The breakfast was really good and you can feel really good positive energy in her place. I love the decoration. Thank you so much Maud

Read fine print... not quite bed & breakfast.. more of bed & sleep
We selected this property because it was listed as a "bed and breakfast".. there were lovely pictures of the breakfast spread posted on the website as well but when we arrived, come to find out breakfast was not included and is extra at $20 a person. Not a terrible big deal but a bit disappointing. We really picked it for the food as that is the highlight for all the bed & breakfast places we have visited in the past. Views from the Van Gogh room is beautiful, cozily decorated however the "private" bathroom is not in the room. We happened to be the only guests on that particular floor for the night we booked. I would assume if there were other guests in the adjoining 2 rooms, we would've had to share the bathroom. I'm not sure if this was still a covid thing, we never saw or met the owner Maud in person, just through texting. I guess I missed the face to face welcome and hospitality when walking into a space such as this.
On a whim we decided to escape to Middleburg for an overnight, and Maud could not have made it easier.
Check-in instructions were sent quickly after submitting our reservation, and we found the room to be a comfortable spot to refresh and watch the sunset color the mountains. The house and room décor (especially the artwork) were very appealing, and the room had everything we could ask for.
Hope to make it this way again soon. It was the best night's sleep I've had in a long time.
Maud was a wonderful host! We loved the surrounding scenery and views from our window. Great location for wineries and hiking. Our breakfast was our choice of items and was delicious. Lovely stay!
We stayed in the Van Gogh Room at the Villa. Beautiful setting, centrally located in the several wineries, and horse farms. Close to two quaint towns Purceville, and Leesburg. The owner manager, Maude, was very lovely and helpful.

Key was told left under mat was not there and when I did find it it was on the inside lock of door. Also, the shower head needed taken care of. Stay was one night so maybe it can be fixed for next guess.
