Opened Spring 2023, Lucky Duck Cottage is one of our newest additions! This extensively remodeled, comfortably appointed, ranch-style vacation cottage lies just across the street from our newest 7-bedroom lakefront jewel, Hawk's Haven. Lucky Duck has 3 queen bedrooms plus 3 full bathrooms and an additional half bath. The living space has a flowing, open floor plan with a combined kitchen/dining area that moves into the upswept picture-windowed living and lounge areas. Relax and enjoy some of your favorite classic movies on one of our 43" or 55" HD satellite-connected TV sets, or pop a DVD into the player for the grandkids. Play a few hands of cards or a board game, or put together some craft projects with your besties around the smaller sun-soaked table in front of the huge windows overlooking the backyard. Relax in the outdoor hot tub, or enjoy drinks with friends around the fire table on the back deck, or whip up your favorite meal on our gas grill then tuck into it around the backyard patio dining set.

Hawk's Haven is an attractively-decorated all-new construction (built in 2019), ranch-style vacation home situated on the eastern shore of Upper Scott Lake. The large lakeside yard includes an expansive lawn perfect for playing games, as well as a fire pit with seating, and there is a private sandy beach with a dock and canoe just steps away. Hawk's Haven has 7 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, plus a well-appointed recreation room, but the real star of the show is the great room. You can take in the gorgeous lakefront vista through the floor-to-ceiling lake-facing windows of the great room while enjoying the kitchen with island seating & mini fridge, living room lounge area with a large-screen (55") television (satellite TV & DVD player included), small breakfast/gaming table for 4, and an expansive dining table large enough to accommodate your whole group! The lake-facing deck includes plenty of outdoor dining space, and there is also a screened porch with a ceiling fan and a 7-piece dining set with ceiling fan and recessed lighting that's perfect for rainy days. Just outside the porch you'll find a gas grill ready for cooking up your favorite meals during the warmer months. The rec room is outfitted with pool, air hockey, and foosball tables, as well as another media lounge area featuring comfy leather seating and an extra 55" TV set.

Our hot tub at Lucky Duck Cottage (one hot tub only) is always available, even in the colder months.

Guests will have full access to both of our entire homes with their decks, yards, driveways & parking areas, private beach (Hawk's Haven only), and 2 private docks with 2 canoes.

Respect Our Neighbors: Use Only Our Yards, Beach, Lake Access, Docks, Driveways, & Parking Areas. No RV parking/camping allowed.

Use of our canoe is free with each of the 2 homes (2 total canoes). We also offer reasonably-priced kayak rental, by the day ($25/day) or week; reservation & pre-payment are required; a $100 minimum rental applies.

Local boat rental options may be available--just ask for details. The public boat launch is just down the street from our home.

The Neighborhood:
Lucky Duck Cottage and Hawk's Haven are among a handful of lakeside cottages located in the Scott Lakes area of Lee Township in rural Allegan County, Michigan. This peaceful small town is the perfect place for folks who are looking to get away from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with family, friends, or even co-workers.

Summer brings the fun of boating, swimming, picnicking, or just relaxing by the water. The autumn colors are spectacular around the lake or in the orchards and vineyards found all over our area. Enjoy some local winter sports like skiing, sledding, cross-country skiing, and ice skating. Spring explodes with fresh colors from the flowers and leaves bursting into new life, invigorating your soul and mind after the long, barren winter.

Our homes are 10-15 minutes away from Crane's Orchards and Dutch Farms, famous for delicious pies and fruit picking. On the way to the orchards is the Fennville Winery, offering tours, and wine tastings. If you like antiquing, it does not get better than this. There are many antique stores within 20 minutes: in South Haven, Allegan, Douglas, and Saugatuck, or just a pleasant drive along Blue Star Highway. In the summer dune rides are a blast and the South Haven beaches are gorgeous. Go fruit picking for cherries, blueberries, raspberries, and apples in nearby orchards. Art galleries in the area offer a wonderful selection to take home as souvenirs. Take your own kayaks to different lakes and rivers, but don't forget your paddles and life jackets!

Upper Scott Lake is only 15 minutes from downtown South Haven or Saugatuck, and 25 minutes from Holland.

Getting Around:
You will definitely need a car to see all that southwest Michigan has to offer.

Cellular pocket Wi-Fi is provided by AT&T, the best area internet service provider. They only offer limited speeds so more than a few connected devices at a time will cause lag. We provide satellite TV & DVD players in all our homes since video streaming is not an option.

Parties: Loud Parties With Excessive Alcohol/Drug Use Are Not Allowed. All Drinking Games Are Strictly Prohibited. We Ask That Nothing Be Stuck To Our Walls Since This Will Damage The Paint. Use of Tinsel, Glitter, Confetti, Feathers, Etc. is Not Welcomed Since They Leave A Mess That Is Hard & Time-Consuming For Our Very Small Staff To Clean Up. Note: If You Have A Wild Party, We Will Contact The Police & Have You Removed From Our Property.
