Nice and quiet lake cottage with a pleasant westerly view over the lake. Peaceful and picteresque sunsets in July for us!
Little to no curtains with lots of big windows. Good on natural light but not good for feeling you have privacy. Anyone who has concerns when it gets dark and people can see you inside, but you can't see them outside may be uncomfortable.
Two small loft window units provide the A/C; there isn't central air. We ran and emptied the humidifier often along with the having the ceiling fans high and were generally good with temps near 80.
Note that the road is unpaved but it's a short uneventful drive.
Lots of wood interior = fair amount of dust if you have allergies/sensitive breathing. Shower jets look to have potential mold/mildew in them. There is also a bathroom window looking at the neighbor's house with half the window having no way to cover it. I.e. if you are in the driveway and look toward the house, you could see a person standing in the shower.
There is no cable TV and internet is spotty. We were gone most of the day, but even getting reliable local channels on antenna would have been a nice way to wind down the night.
Good location with nice drives to many places-wineries, orchards, St. Joseph, Holland, Saugatuck, South Haven, and more.
Overall quiet place, but older historic place without some modern conveniences. Owners very responsive!
