The condition of the building is tired. All the sash windows had broken sash chords. The heating on a cold night was barely adequate - I got into a comfortable and clean bed to keep warm. Lovely towels on a heated
towel rail made it a pleasure getting out of the shower.
I was kept waiting 45 minutes for breakfast because the chef was not informed I was going to be there . He was very pleasant but was busy making 8 take away breakfasts. I , therefore, had a rushed breakfast instead of a leisurely one
Great stay, room was a good size and the staff were very friendly. Full english breakfast in the morning was really good and included in the room price which was a nice bonus.
Lovely stay at the White Horse.
Comfy rooms, lovely hot shower and huge towels to wrap up in.
Breakfast was buffet both cold and hot all lovely fresh tea and coffee on tap.
Friendly vibrent bar to relax in.
Will definitely stay again
Arrived later than planned, nice welcome.
Lovely big room, nicely decorated.
Good shower room.
Bed was very comfy, fabulous quilt.
Breakfast was self service, good selection and the hot stuff was hot
Only disappointment was we had to go out to eat in the evening as the restaurant was closed, but plenty of places nearby to eat.

Disappointing
Good points- staff tried to put things right on the whole very helpful
Not so good : had to move bedroom after one night as shower outlet blocked .
Drawers impossible to open - no space
Kettle socket inaccessible to refill.
Drunk guy yelling under our window in courtyard at 10 pm.
Smoking in courtyard right under window so fumes right into bedroom
Although a room for three inadequate pillows,
Cups and other tea coffee etc.
First day breakfast cold .
Not informed of road closeure so unable to park on site second night or even near.
Good location right in centre of the town. Big comfortable bed, nice linens. No dinner available, room very cold on arrival, breakfast adequate.
Sadly roadworks outside the hotel which went on until midnight! Not told about it when we checked in.
Friendly from the moment I arrived. Nice bar, great service, huge bedroom and bed, really comfy. Great shower which is a must always. Really lovely place to stay.
Most comfy bed I’ve stayed in away from home in a long time! Small room but perfect for a couple of nights away while we attended a wedding. Good breakfast, although the toaster is the slowest I’ve ever seen. Hot chocolate in the rooms plus consistently at breakfast would be a wonderful bonus! Staff were nice and parking was great given the central location.
Lovely few days spent here. Leon is a fantastic host, we’ll be back!

Liked: Cleanliness
The hotel was reasonably priced but a little tired. Curtains were hanging off the rails and the bathroom had uncovered pipes coming out of the wall. Breakfast was included, available until 9am and really nice but we were disappointed to find out that no other meals were being served despite being advertised. Staff were friendly when they were around. All in all the hotel could be so much better than it is with a bit more effort in the part if the people running it
The hotel would appear to be in the recovery phase from it's covid closure with bar not stocked and when we asked for a coffeewe were informed the machinewas broken. That said it would also benefit from some TLC. Our room had peeling decor and water damage to the ceiling. Window catch broken and guttering damaged so when it rained, it sounded like a downpour. The banister on the main staircase was coated in grime. Also the between room soundproofing was not great. The hotel has bags of potential and is the only one in town so could be in a great little business with some investment and some TLC.
ideal position for the purpose it was required for. only comment would be to let people know there is no lift to the floors. the staff were all very helpful. the manager was extremely helpful to which my mother was greatful by being able to swap a few things around to enable an elderly person to be on the first floor. thank you
