"This spacious home had the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets and gorgeous gardens surrounding the home that we could walk around. The view of the lake is stunning we could look out over it from the hot tub. After the sun set, we could enjoy the fire, which was just so relaxing. It is a bit remote, but with that, you get tranquility and peace. Absolutely worth it. We were willing to drive, so we could still explore the national parks in the surrounding area. Communication was also great. We extended our stay twice at the last minute as our plans changed and they were so accommodating."

"We had an amazing stay at the Retro Retreat! The location next to Lake Taupo is absolutely stunning and made our trip even more memorable. The weather was lovely as well. The batch house was incredibly nice, tidy, and well-maintained. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, especially the basic amenities and the lollies for the kids—they loved them! The location is very quiet at night. It’s less than 5 minutes to the lake, which was perfect for us. The kitchen windows offers nice panoramic view of the lake, making every meal special. There are also lovely walks around the area that we thoroughly enjoyed. The host was exceptionally kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this place and hope to return in the future!"
