We greatly enjoyed our stay at Playa Los Arcos. The immediate beach access (with lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels and beverage service) is the greatest asset. The beach itself is a bit stony and the surf chaotic; if you’re going to swim (many don’t care to!), it’s better to do that south of the picturesque pier/jetty. But the facilities are nice too - particularly the restaurant with tables directly adjacent to the boardwalk, for people-watching, the sound and sights of surf, and gorgeous sunsets while enjoying a beverage or snack! We paid for the all-inclusive feature and were very pleased with the quality and appeal of the food. There is opportunity for improvement in the rooms themselves. They’re small though comfortable, and ours on the 4th floor had a large outdoor porch overlooking the pool area and a view of the ocean. But the quality of the finishes - door frames, paint, door knobs - doesn’t give a 4-star or even 3-star feel. And, though we spent most of our time on the beach or in the common area, it would be nice to have an armchair in the room to make it more relaxing. I asked for and received a tour of a remodeled room, and it was okay and larger, but it faced the street. All in all, we would return, particularly if we found the right price.
