Our reservation got cancelled a night before. This was the worst experience ever. We had to get other reservations the day of. This is terrible customer service.

The property is fantastic. I was unhappy since I reserved and received Expedia confirmation for Presidential Suit and Paid as such. However, a day or two before my trip, I received an email and a phone call that Presidential Suit is not available and they only have a Studio Suit available. This was a significant downgrade. Apparently, this listing was auto-posted from VRBO to Expedia but the VRBO instruction to contact the listing agent to confirm availability was not transparent and active in Expedia. Expedia, instant Confirm my reservation and left me in a very difficult situation to either: a- Cancel My reservation b- Change My dates c- Accept the downgrade. Since I had already purchased the airline tickets and had taken vacation from work on those date, I could neither do options a or b. I was forced to accept the downgrade which was to go from the Highest Suite Awailable with a Living Room, Kitchen, and a Separate Bed Room (one level below a Vila) to the lowest Studio option with small room with 2 beds and no kitchen, Living Room and other amenities available in Presidential Suites. This is not a negative review of the resort. LifeStyle resorts in Puerto Plata is the place to go and I still recommend it under any circumstances. Just reservation via Expedia and importing listing via VRBO and coordination required with the listing agent was the major issue. Despite the incident I liked my stay so much that I became a trial member of the LifeStyle Resort
