This place should not be called a resort! The standard room they gave us was the worst place I’ve ever stayed at. It was in no way “standard”. It was outdated, shabby, dark and dingy. The furnishings were bare bone and just awful. I couldn’t sleep there so I complained. They said if I paid for an upgrade they could give us a “Supreme” room. It was atleast sleepable, but still terrible. The restaurants are a joke, just two rooms on the beachside they call restaurants. Terrible food! This place should not be on Expedia, it is just awful. Definitely not worthy of being called a resort. Worst than a Red Roof Inn!

As much as I travel one thing I do not encounter usually is the lack of AC and hot water. I stayed here Sunday to Sunday and when I arrived and got to my room the hotel associate turned on the AC which struck me as odd that it was not on before my arrival. I did not think much of it until the next day I was still without AC. It took them until Wednesday to switch my room to a room that had AC. Also the hot water was not working, they did fix that by the following day though. Again in the new room on the day I was checking out I was without hot water. This to me should not happen at a vacation resort. It should not take that long to fix a problem with AC in 80 degree weather. And hot water??? in both rooms. Another issue I had with the resort was the buffet food at best was lukewarm. I could possibly understand if you get there at the end of the buffet. But at least one of the buffets I arrived as they opened it again to lukewarm food. I understand there occasionally could be a glitch but it should be attended to promptly. The first room issue with the hot water when I went to the front desk I was told the were replacing hot water heaters in a couple rooms? The next day when I went to guest services they attended to it immediately. All in all the resort was not bad but the inconveniences definitely would prevent me from recommending or staying at the resort again.

Beautiful hotel and location. Even on the rainiest of days they had great activities! Only thing to note, there are A LOT of smokers, so if you are looking for a smoke free accommodation maybe look somewhere else!

Had a great stay at BlueBay Villas Doradas. The staff was excellent. Food options were perfect for us. The a la carte dinner were great, except for the Italian dinner. That was a huge disappointment. Everything else was very nice. Our bed was comfortable, and we rested well. One other negative was the entertainment. It was boring. The staff should make an effort to engage with tge guests more. Have guests participate and get rid of Mexican night. This is the DR! There is plenty of great music and entertainment to energize an audience. Besides that, this is nice resort to spend a few nights.

Disappointing Stay at BlueBay Resorts. I won’t be returning to BlueBay Resorts due to several issues. The rooms are outdated and in need of upgrades, but the biggest concern is the safety of the floors. When wet, they become dangerously slippery, and I saw multiple guests fall. The entire resort, including the flooring, needs to be renovated to prevent accidents. I hope management addresses these issues, but I won’t be back.
