THE PROPERTY:
Remote and untamed, the rugged Osa Peninsula offers a glimpse into Costa Rica's vibrant history and a true escape from the ordinary.
From your room, it is a short walk to the private pier that allows you to hover over the majestic Osa Peninsula. On your walk, take time to stop and look around as you near the concrete bridge as you may find families of sloths up in the trees, worker ants carrying bits of leaves to their nests, macaws and other flying and water birds. From the pier, it is not uncommon to spot a vast array of marine life….turtles, fish, crocodiles, dolphins, rays, and sometimes even a whale siting…right from the pier. Or take a boat ride to tour the peninsula and follow the dolphins…or they may even follow you.
The peninsula and outlying ocean is considered one of the top sport fishing destinations in the world. Come experience the thrill and bring your catch back to the resort where the restaurant will prepare it to your liking.
The resort walking trail will lead you to the infamous Crocodile Creek where you can regularly spot these ancient and majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Imagine the lush rainforest and the eco-rich Corcovado National Park merging seamlessly with the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and Golfo Dulce.
After spending the day on one of the multitude of eco-excursions available, you can relax and unwind inside your modern room within this rainforest resort.
High speed Wifi, in room safe and air conditioning / heating is all included.
THE TOWN:
Puerto Jiménez is a safe, friendly, unspoiled town with residents who live the “Pura Vida” mentality. All goods and services of home are available but make sure to indulge in local cuisine, shopping, arts and crafts and night life. For dining recommendations, check out our guide book or just ask us!
The downtown is a short 15-20 minute walk (make sure to look for crocodiles or other wildlife as you cross the concrete bridge) or 4 minute drive. As a country with no military, it personifies the peaceful and happy demeanour of its people.
ARRIVAL GUIDE:
Recommended path is to fly in to San Jose airport (SJO).
From here you can rent a vehicle if you choose to make the drive. Approximate drive time is 6-7 hours with beautiful stops along the way as you travel along the Pacific coastline. Drive all the way or stop for the night at one of the beautiful hotels along the way.
Upon arriving, you will be impressed with the main lobby building that is nestled right into the rain forest. Look up in the trees as you may spot a toucan, macaw, or even one of 4 species of monkeys.
Alternatively, if you would like the adventure to start right away, pre-book a flight on Sansa Airlines or Green Airways that will take you directly to Puerto Jiménez in less than an hour. These flights are available at the domestic airport located about a 4 minute walk down the road from the arrivals terminal of SJO.
Upon arriving to the Puerto Jiménez airport, we can prearrange for a short shuttle/taxi to the resort (located about 3 minutes drive time away) or we can provide a couple of phone numbers to call for a ride from reputable drivers. If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk from the airport in about 10 minutes to the property. Just walk parallel to the runway down the paved road, and then back the other way on the opposite side (this road is not maintained as well so be mindful if you have luggage with wheels).
