The surprise was the Sala della Musica (Music Room), a veritable treasure trove of historic musical instruments from woodwind to stringed going back to the 10th century. It was fascinating, not least of all to view a forerunner of the bagpipes that the Irish and Scots have claimed for decades. Their piece de resistance however, is a bone flute, claimed to be the oldest musical instrument in the world. They have a local musical group that plays, it must be something special, but we will never get to hear them.

If you've gone to Cormons, chances are you're on the wine trail for this is one of Italy's premier regions for the grape. There are many wineries and eateries where you can savour the local produce.

"La maison est idéalement située dans Smartno avec une très belle vue sur les vignes de la région. Elle est également très spacieuse. Le gestionnaire immobilier est très performant. Seulement voilà : une partie des équipements indiqués dans l'annonce est absent comme l'accès au portail pour stationner 2 voitures alors qu'en fait celui-ci est condamné. "For the start we were not in the apartment I hired ... we were in an apartment that was all day in the shade .... the one I wanted was just to watch (it was free) .... there were no coffee cups in the apartment, there were no knives, there were no cutting boards (we all had to buy) ..... the overall equipment of the apartments is very poor. The apartment on the picture is an apartment number 7 (I want that one), we were hidden in number 18 as if we were criminals, but for the Slovenian people...
