Sweet stay but consider this…
This is a lovely location with quirky interior design and detailing. HOWEVER, it’s not shown that there’s a big open stair case connecting the old and the new sections of the house. It was disappointing that this was not pictured. The photos on the site are not an accurate depiction of the space.
Where the cute fireplace is, is completely open with another room and the hallway, which apart from making it noisy is not private and wedged right in the middle of the bedrooms. So if there are kids or people sleeping in the rooms there’ll be no late night D&M’s by the fire.
Apart from the fire there are only 2 heaters downstairs. On the first night there was no kindling or wood or utensils to get the fire going so ensure you bring your own ( if you have a spare fire poker lying around) especially on cold nights. We didn’t find the bedding appropriate for our winter stay.
The fourth bedroom doesn’t provide any privacy or cupboards as it’s not really a bedroom but more like a sitting room joining the sunroom ( with the front door) and the fire room and the hallway.
The mezzanine and upper level were lovely and warm and the views were gorgeous.
Unfortunately we didn’t use the back area much due to mould and it all being a bit unkempt, but the kids did enjoy the cubby house nonetheless. A kookaburra did steal a cheese cracker practically out of someone’s mouth with was very entertaining to our overseas guest.
It was great to walk out the back gate and along some pretty steep and challenging walks in nature behind the house. It’s certainly little challenging for the very young or the very old, but climbing over the horizon to the beach was a delightful view and experience.
Overall it’s a sweet space but we would’ve chosen something more appropriate for our baby and grandma had the description and pictures truthfully illustrated the property.
