Overpriced small room
We booked what was described as a "Luxury Double Room" at £200/night. Our room was very small, just enough to walk round the bed. The mattress on the bed has seen better days. The en-suite shower room was OK.
I wouldn't describe this as luxury in any way!
Breakfast was good. The location is peaceful with nice views. The staff were friendly.
Due to the poor value i wouldn't recommend staying here
Very friendly and professional. The Cartford Inn is in a lovely setting with views over the river and fields. Good food and excellent service. One very minor issue, the bed was soft on one side and hard on the other, but apart from that everything was perfect and I'll definitely be back.
From the welcome at the bar to Check-out this was a great stay. They had reserved a table for us ‘just in case ‘ , this on a busy Saturday night was very much appreciated. The room was lovely looking over the river, the bar was well stocked and the dinner excellent, as was breakfast. We will stay here again and visit the art gallery and deli.
The staff were just wonderful from the greeting to departure. The character of the Inn is outstanding together with its surroundings
I highly recommend it
Upon arrival we were met by a young man with a welcoming smile who showed us to our rooms and very courteosly asked to carry our cases. This set the tone with all other members of staff we encountered during our stay. The rooms overlooked the river and surrounding countryside and are of a good size as are the bathroom and walk-in shower. The cleanliness of the room was of a very high standard. We'd gone there knowing the reputation it had for it's food and weren't disappointed. All four of us were more than pleased with our selections from the menu and hope to return in the not too distant future.
The senior staff were very welcoming and charming and the room was clean with touches of luxury. The area is beautiful and the garden a delightful place to have a sundownder in high summer. Service in the restaurant was very very slow at dinner and rather inefficient at breakfast.
The room was smartly appointed although the bed was very low and someone else in our party found her's uncomfortable and had to sleep on the floor. Two others struggled as their beds seemed to be uneven apparently.
For a "Luxury" room the price was bizarrely high and that's why I wouldn't recommend the hotel.
Beautiful setting, quirky rooms, excellent service and delicious food, would highly recommended! We loved breakfast overlooking the river too! We’ll be back.
