My stay was not great
Staff were very friendly
Food was ok
Room was awful bathroom toilet flush broken shower needs a new head
Bed was so uncomfortable and not clean
Tv did not work at all
Utterly grim! Rooms not been painted for years, and mattresses older than me! Closed run down caravan park out the back, shower off the wall, main light not working. Felt dirty and grimy.
Staff were nice though and OK breakfast
Described as upscale hotel - literally grim stay- awful

AVERAGE
The staff were great. Had a really good salad. Nice pub and restaurant area
But, the room needed a good paint. Shower needs the mould cleaned off to and the worst part was the mattress
Thankfully i got an extra duvet to use as a "topper" to try and get a few hours sleep in

Great pub, average hotel
This is a pub with a few rooms tacked on rather than a hotel. The food's good, the beers great, but the rooms are in need of a makeover: Drab and poorly maintained.

no more breakfast even though it shows as optional
The place is nice, the pub is nice as well
It's a shame they stopped doing breakfast
This means it's unlikely I will stay again as it's sort of mandatory.

Was good very nice bar staff in pub very helpful room was ok but did not re plenty the coffee or supply a clean cup and could done with breakfast in morning even if it was Continental would been ok
Wonderful stay, staff all lovely and welcoming. The new manager is such a lovely person who is passionate about what he does. We will definitely be going back.
On arrival, the room I was given, when opening the door, the bed /room had not been made up. However, when I went back to reception, I was immediately re-roomed and apologised to. So, no major drama.
Thought it was a bit expensive £130 per room per night for room only and £10 per person for breakfast 2 nights £300
and the breakfasts we had were awful
Eggs Benedict were hard and scrambled eggs no taste !!
Had a wedding in Lytham and the Birley arms was a very reasonable rate and not far away.
lovely welcoming reception who made us feel welcome.
one of our rooms was ready (we arrived early) and they let us check in our bags etc.to get ready
You can see the investment in the property to a good standard.
Felt that £130 without breakfast for one person was a bit overpriced.

We had a good weekend at the Birley Arms, room was slightly outdated, but we did have a dog friendly room, which we were grateful for, it was very clean.
The food was good.
The staff were very friendly and were a credit to the hotel.
