perfect getaway
It was me and my three daughters (ages 11-14). It was a lovely cabin with nothing wanting for a short stay. The beds were comfortable and even in the height of July we stayed cool enough with the windows open and a few fans (there were at least 3 provided at the property). My daughters LOVED the disc golf course and I loved the peaceful location. The refrigerator and freezer are on the smaller side, so if you have a family and plan to stay for more than 3-4 days, you will want to plan a trip into town to restock any perishables. You could probably bring food for a week if it's just 2 of you. We had a small problem upon checkin, but the property manager was very responsive and it all worked out. The property is advertised as up to 5, but if my husband had come as planned it would have been a tight squeeze. Ther eis enough beds for 5 (with the living room futon) but the living room seating is only really for 4 (although there are two dining chairs at the breakfast bar) and the dining table (out side on a nice coverd deck) also only had 4 seats, with no other chairs that could be moved to make room.

Sorry, but!
Picture on add is deceiving. The cabin is on a tiny piece of land surrounded by 5 or6 bigger homes so the peace and tranquility that is projected in the add is false. No mention in add about an 8 mile drive up and down a very dusty road to get in and out to go to town. It is as if the cabin, which is cozy, is for someone who wants to stay at the cabin and go now where except for walks and enjoy the mountain atmosphere.. My opinion is I was mislead, (maybe my fault). We left early after two days on a four day rental. My reason was two fold. I was not their just for the mountain atmosphere, which was nice, but a place, secluded and to go to Prescott now and then. The drive up and down was and adventure and kind of fun, but our car was a different color after the drive up or down. By the way the refer should have be turned on before we got there, but was not and smelled. Nice cabin, but?

Nice quiet cabin in the woods
We loved our stay. We were out looking for property in Arizona so the long dirt road wasn’t convenient for us to drive out every day. But if you want to stay up the woods and not leave it’s a perfect little get away.

Perfect. Peace, quiet and beautiful.
Located in the Prescott National Forest, this off-the-grid cabin was secluded, quiet, and relaxing. Beautiful views, clean, wel-equipped and welcoming. Leave all the stress, traffic and BS back where it belongs--in Phoenix and escape to this mountainous retreat. The 3.5 mile dirt road is rough, but my Hyundai Kona handled it with no problem. We laughed all the way up and all the way down. There's lots of wildlife, hiking trails and natural beauty. If you are looking for a secluded rural and relaxing getaway, you won't regret booking this home. It was fantastic!

EXACTLY what we were looking for!
This property was exactly what we were looking for to escape the heat. Less than a 2 hour drive door to door and just shy of 8k feet in elevation. This is probably the highest in elevation you can get within a couple hours of Scottsdale. Unfortunately because of the dry weather there was a fire ban, and the nights were really cold outside without one. The small loop this cabin is on is the last stop on the road before the top of the mountain. The cabin is very well equipped, and they made "living off the grid" very easy. We are already looking for an opportunity to come back! Thanks!

Exactly what we needed
The cabin was exactly what we needed after being indoors the last three months. Quiet, clean, and private. Well stocked kitchen that was great for all the grilling we did. Plenty of firewood for fireplace on cool mountain nights. Kids got off the electronics and played frisbee golf and horseshoes. We had poor phone service and WiFi is not like at home, which is what we were hoping for! The kids didn’t want to go home. We were so tired from all the fresh air that we slept like babies. The whole mountaintop was beautiful and we want to come back again.

Water troubles
We had a lot of trouble with the water system ,I understood that we were on a shared well so we were being as conservative as possible, but others in different rentals may have not and we had no water Saturday night and Sunday morning causing my wife and I no shower or water to wash up. That’s sad

Great Romantic Getaway
Beautiful place to be. The views are awesome. The cabin was great and had everything you need. Sitting outside looking at the sky filled with so many stars was awesome. Close to lakes to picnic, hike or fish. Many hiking trails. Short ride to Prescott for a stroll through history. - Would stay here again.

Great little cabin.
The cabin was great. A bit warm but cooled off quickly. Very well stocked with all utensils you'd need. Getting there is rough so prepare yourself for the road. A truck or Suv will handle it. My one issue was the smart lock stopped working. I reached out to the property manager..3 voicemails, 3 texts. Never one response. This was very disappointing as we had to leave the cabin a couple times and it was unlocked. As I write this i still have not received any contact from the manager.

Awesome! We'll be back
Really liked the location of the property. Nicely off the beaten path! Gave great relief from the heat in the Phoenix valley. View from the back patio/parking area is fantastic! Great place for star-gazing. Didn't get the opportunity to play Frisbee Golf, but will take advantage of that next time! The house was perfect size for two and our dog. Nicely appointed with everything needed for meal prep. Nice grill! Comfortable beds and furniture. We will definitely rent here again!

Firework Getaway
One of my dogs is terrified of fireworks so I decided to book this spot to get away from the city and fireworks during July 4th. What a success, we didn't hear one firework the whole 3 nights we were there! Booking and check-in process was very easy. The drive up the dirt road was a little more intense than i expect but it was a fun experience (glad i have a truck). When we first arrived, we noticed a lot of weeds growing in the front and the chairs around the fire pit were broken. I emailed the landlord to let her know, scared they would think i did it. I know it is the mountains but there were a lot of dead moths when we arrived. My dog got her toy stuck under the bed and I suggest not looking under there. The couch was also full of dog hair and white spots. My sheets also had stains on them. They have each guest wash their own dishes and people are lazy, the pots and silverware had dried food on them. Thankfully we brought some paper plates and we re-washed all the other dishes we used. Since everything is run off solar, the fridge was pretty small, just a aheads up. At one point, we blew a breaker with the microwave and none of the breakers were working. I tried calling the landlord but there is no service without the wifi. We looked around and couldn't find any information on what to do if the power went out and if we had to use the generator. Thankfully after a while we figured it out and didn't have to guess on the generator thing. There is no AC so we kept the doors open, screen doors closed, but both the screen doors have a huge gap in them and we had to chase moths around the house killing about 5 per day scared we would wake up with one in our hair. I actually brought one home with me, it was hiding in my bag. All in all, it was nice to get away from the heat, though it still gets a little warm up there without AC. We ended up hanging in the back with chairs (we brought) because it was just a dirt road and not as many weeds and ants as the front. We did see a doe one morning walking down the road which was neat. It is pretty secluded, they have other properties around and we saw some people walking each day. But, they area was super quiet. The best part? The stars!

This cabin was really nice, we only slept there, and then we were gone all day, so we didn't get to enjoy the property. It had horseshoes, frisbee golf, and was really secluded. Very cool rental and the Barbara was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We will return.

We loved this solar powered cabin for it's scenery, quiet, yet not far from Prescott and hiking. Would highly recommend for those who like the quiet! It does require a 4 wheel drive in winter - glad we had one in early March as the dirt road was wet.
