"Thank you to all the staff who were super cool with me and my partner. Made us feel comfortable and safe! My only complaint is the outside shower hose needs to be replaced. And if you have guests who wants cocktails , please have some one staff to make the drinks "

"There was some mix-up and I was told that I had reservations for the location that DOES NOT have a pool but it was a block away so the sister hotel with the pool accommodated us. Kudos to the employees for their quick resolution to our issue. Both hotels were decent but this is really a review of hotel Orquideas 1 because that's the location we ended up staying in. As mentioned, there are two sister hotels (Orquideas 1 & 2), just make sure yours is the one that has the pool if it matters to you.The pics were misleading because it makes you think that the pool is located at the hotel you book but it's at Orquideas 1. I would still ask and confirm. The hotel itself was decent. The ac was sufficient but I went in December so I'm not sure how hot it can get during other months. The pool and the terrace made neat hangout spots whenever we were in our hotel. I have friends who live locally and told me that the area we were in was dangerous. With that said, I'm not sure if the ubers and taxis go out there at night. My friends picked us up and dropped us off so nothing sketchy ever happened during our stay. Thank You Jesus. "

"The Balandra is a very special place. We stayed there after my wife had surgery to rest. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The facilities are wonderful and the food is delicious. An incredible place of beauty!"

"This was a trip to Puerto Cayo. Puerto Cayo is a very very very sleepy little village west of Jipijapa. You have to want to go there. There has to be a reason. Otherwise, most people head to Frailes or up to Manta. If you want quiet and no people -- not cars in the streets or motorcycles making noise, then Puerto Cayo is for you. It's a beautiful and empty 5 mile long beach. Maybe 20 boats out every morning looking for fish. Whales are littler yards away migrating up or down the coast. It's incredibly peaceful"
