Spectacular Stay
We were a family group of 4 adults, 2 teens and a dog and had a wonderful weekend. Annie’s place is amazing, it feels like a home away from home. Photos don’t do justice to the charm and character that greets you when you walk in the house. There are so many spaces to sit and read, play card or board games, share meal times or soak up the gorgeous views and the local wildlife. We had everything we needed for a most enjoyable, comfortable stay. Highly recommend.

5 night winter family break
We booked a 5 night stay in July for some quality family time away with our 3 teens and our dog. As soon as we arrived we discovered the house was set up perfectly for comfort and relaxation, with seating areas inside and out. There were plenty of dvds and games to keep everyone happy, and the kitchen was well equipped. We all enjoyed getting to know the three alpacas and the many native birds. From there we took day trips; visiting Rylstone, Bathurst and Orange and were thrilled to get home again to get cosy in-front of the fire to see out the afternoon & evening in comfort. Thanks for all the nice touches.

Mountainview is truly spectacular, the house is just adorable and very comfortable, just loved it.
We had the most divine time over Easter with the family and our 2 dogs - definitely would come back over and over again I can't fault it - just beautiful.

A beautiful getaway
This house really is a home away from home. Only 5 minutes from the village of Portland but you get a rural/bush setting all to yourself plus the alpacas and birdlife. We are a family of four plus three dogs and we could bring the lot and relax on the huge deck overlooking the scenery. Theaim common room is huge and there are plenty of DVDs, boardgames and books to read plus Foxtel. We stayed three nights and it was just what we needed to get away from it all. We also did a day trip to Katoomba which is an hour away. Annie rang us and even posted out a letter before we arrived to make sure we'd find the place ok.

Love Love Love
We love going to Mount View, this is our 5th time and we just love coming back. I've looked for other farm stays but this is truly the best of the best. So comfortable and lot's of spots to read a book or just look at the wildlife. Kids enjoyed the alpacas and the neighbours horses. The pub in Portland has been taken over recently and the food was good and they let us have a pooch inside.. We love coming back to this little oasis, pure bliss.. Thanks Annie, see you soon xoxo

Above and beyond
What a gorgeous place to visit. We had chosen Annie's place to celebrate Mum's 80th, only to be beset by torrential rain which almost quashed it, but Annie went above and beyond to help make it happen and be memorable. Everything about the property and its design and furnishings were wonderful

Relaxing and positive environment
This was our second visit to Anne's property, and although it rained the entire weekend my family and I still had a wonderful time indoors. Anne's house is very comfortable and homey. There's a certain positive vibe about the place that is hard to describe. To me, it's like everyone who has visited has kind of left some of their happy memories and positive energy there as a souvenir for the next visitor to feel. PEACEFUL LOCATION
It was just what we needed to spend precious time with our daughter and grand daughter. An unusual and homely house with fantastic views of the sunrise over the mountains. Our little grandie loved the alpacas and the deck. She had her breakfast with the birds on the deck! Thank you so much Annie for offering to post Anya's bunny. We did not even realise that we had left it until you told us!

Annie was just fantastic from booking through to ringing us during our stay to see if we were ok in the wet weather , the house is great with hidden treasures everywhere , spotlessly clean and everything we could possibly need was supplied .We had lucerne to feed the goats and seed to feed the dozens of birds that turned up on the verandah and even a book on birds so we could identify them. Great place to just feel the serenity !

Magic!
We can only echo all the wonderful reviews for this property. It is “everything it says on the tin” and more. A magical spot and the house is a revelation. Felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. A great house for entertaining. Fully equipped with everything you need and all beds SO comfy. We even caught yabbies in the dam, to great excitement and delicious too! Annie was a delight to communicate with, generous and thoughtful. Would recommend 100%.

Amazing place
We loved, loved our stay here. The best! The house is big, the host created lots of little areas to sit and relax, inside and outside. Very clean. Lots of books, games and old cd's etc available. My daughter loved being the DJ and discovering old music. View is amazing and it is so much fun feeding the alpacas and the birds. Very relaxing stay, we will be back! Thank you to Annie, who went above and beyond to make our stay with Christmas special.

Simply Beautiful
Mountain View Escape , exceeded our expectations . The house is simply beautiful , and the afternoon sun dips the last of it's daily raze on the distant mountains, as we gathered on the deck for the evening meals. This may sound a bit of a travel blog script , however we travelled to Portland on business with working crew and chose the Mountain View Escape as our accommodation for the week , and are by no means travel critics. The house is wonderfully furnished with little surprises throughout . The fire place made for relaxing evenings , and reading the history and story behind some of the houses features of timber floors , brick fire place and the hundred of books available to read (one dated back to 1879) , made for constant evening conversation with the work crew . All of the team agreed , Mountain View Escape , is a place to return to with our families and enjoy the beauty of the place , the wonderfully welcoming hospitality of our host Annie and experience the surrounding district and attractions. Can wait to come back in the new year Thank you again Annie for a wonderful experience Todd , and the team
