We had an emergency situation and needed a hotel for the night and arrived quite late. The gentleman manager let us in and was so helpful, offered to arrange a taxi first thing in AM and carried our heavy luggage upstairs. The room was a little barebones but clean and fine for a few hours sleep. In the morning the taxi arrived perfectly on time and again the nice manager helped with luggage. We finally got to appreciate the view, heard some interesting information from manager who was lifelong resident and the upstairs restaurant is quite lovely. I would recommend this charming hotel, the service is above and beyond and view really special for this quaint seaside island town.

The hotel is quite old. At first we got a vwry smelly and tiny room (paid for extra large) but aftwr immediate complain, we get a better one. Staff is very friendly. Restaurant though is not the best - food is so, so, staff is so, so. You can't seat whre you want - you'll be seated in a herd, together with others, even when is nearly empty because that how they do it ... Not the cheapest either.

The hotel staff, food and drink were absolutely fab. The room we stayed in was good .only downside i would say would be an area that you could sit outside have a drink and smoke .. overall very nice place and the views were stunning

What a view from this lovely hotel!
We really enjoyed our night here. Room was spacious and well appointed. Very quiet too. The restaurant has the most amazing views! Hard too concentrate on the delicious food without looking our of the windows. Great service from everyone in the hotel. Wished we had booked to stay a bit longer as there was more to see on Portland than we expected.

Most things very good. Service for evening meals 3/4 if an hour waiting for dessert. Decided to leave. Manager not very nice just said in a hard voice very busy to other guests. Reception ladies excellent, very helpful.
