Colorful Roseway Bungalow - a classic old Portland charmer!

Colorful & relaxing: your stay is sure to be pleasant in this easy, convenient, and charming Roseway neighborhood home. The 102-year-old house has two queen bedrooms on the main floor. The living room couch pulls out into a comfy bed, and an upstairs lounge area has a double futon and double bed. Mattresses are new, towels and sheets are high quality. The furnishings are fun, funky, and not fancy ~ but never compromising comfort. You'll enjoy a large kitchen with lots of countertops and storage space, a big fridge, and a 6-burner Viking cooktop. Within a 10-minute walk you'll find some great restaurants, but you might just want to stay in!

To note:
~Touchpad entry - no key necessary.
~The house is a nice size, much larger than your average two bedroom, because of upstairs “lounge.”
~Street parking is readily available and ask host if you need driveway parking, it's shared with neighbors.
~ There's no enclosed yard - pets must be on leash when outside.
Backyard is comfy and available for you to use - just know that it's not private. It's wide open to the driveway shared by the neighbors, and I'm also building a sweet mother-in-law cottage at the back/side of the property, unlikely to be disruptive and won't be in your vision (totally possible to ignore and not see/hear if you prefer.) The front yard and front porch are all yours to enjoy privately, but don't hesitate to use the open and in-process backyard too!

Convenient and Clean
Had everything we needed, comfortable and clean. Can walk to the grocery store and several shops. Host very communicative, answered all our questions. Will definitely stay again next time we come to Portland.

Michelle was an incredible host. With 3 adults, the house was a perfect fit. The neighborhood was great for morning and evening walks which we enjoyed daily. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Portland.

Perfect place for family and gathering
We stayed as part of our visit for my daughters wedding. Every part of our stay was fantasic! Arrival was smooth, interaction with the owner was so easy, and even though there were unavoidable environmental factors, we were comfortable and happy. We would love to come back again!

Rose festival and contemporary art biennial
The house was so charming and welcoming. The Rosewood bungalow was clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated. Our 7 year old twins loved the upstairs. The candy land game was kept going the whole time. Kitchen was spacious and well supplied. Beds comfortable. Garden and front porch and back yard shared table are lovely. I would stay here again.

Cozy and lovely Portland home!
I stayed in this house with 4 of my family members that were visiting Portland for the first time. We loved staying here! There are plenty of comfortable sleeping spaces, sitting spaces, and a cute front patio. We loved the comfortability of the house, as well as all of the detail our host put into this house. The location is perfect for airport travel, as well as getting to all corners of the city. We really appreciated her effort at making sure we loved our stay. We are so grateful we got to stay here!

Absolutely wonderful
Such a great house! It's near Sandy Blvd, but very quiet, and the house had everything we needed. Michelle is delightful and welcoming. Loved walking the neighborhood, and you can get to many great restaurants and other sites with a very short drive. Highly recommended.

My family and I really enjoyed staying at Michelle's home. It's very comfortable, stocked with anything that you may need, and decorated beautifully - both inside and out. It's also close to public transportation, groceries, and within walking distance of an off-leash dog park. Michelle is also very responsive and helpful!

My sister, cousin, and I had a ladies weekend at Roseway, and it was perfect. Michelle is a class act host that includes many thoughtful touches within the home. The house is in a convenient location near amenities and fun things to see and do, though we spent a good deal of time simply relaxing in the beautiful space that Michelle cultivated within the house. We can't wait to return!

Family visit to Portland
My teenagers and husband and I stayed here while visiting family in the area. The house was clean and adorable, Michelle was a very communicative and responsive host. We really enjoyed our time at the house, we had plenty of space to play games together and to break off and have solo downtime. We were able to walk to restaurants, shops, and the grocery store. It was a great location.

Charming Home in Northeast Portland
This home is lovely and has everything you could need. It's very clean (important to me) and the owner, Michelle, lives downstairs and is very accessible if anything goes awry. (Although nothing went wrong during our stay). Michelle has chickens in the back and brought us fresh eggs upon our arrival. Safeway is within walking distance just down the street so we were able to easily get any groceries. The home is within walking distance of many stores and restaurants. There was a little issue with parking, but that shouldn't be a problem once they get the backyard completed. We enjoyed our stay and would book this home again.

My husband said he thinks this is his favorite VRBO stay so far and I agree. Michelle was really communicative about any questions and incredibly welcoming with snacks and personal notes. The house... it is so comfortable! The beds, extra linens, light blocking blinds, full kitchen, cozy living room, supplies for both bathroom and spices, fans for each bedroom. It had everything we needed and then some. But it was the decorating... the art and found pieces were done so well. We really enjoyed feeling like it was an inviting, personal space. And it was SO CLEAN! I really appreciated that. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Home in Portland
We had a great stay in Portland visiting family. The location of the house was perfect for us as we have family in Portland and in Vancouver and it was only a 20-minute drive to either place. Our son flew in from Salt Lake and it was a 15-minute drive to the airport. The house and yard were beautiful and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The house is located in a friendly neighborhood with many people out walking. The Safeway grocery store was nearby and within walking distance. Our host (Michelle) was the best and was very easy to communicate with. The only thing missing on this trip was getting to meet her. Next time for sure.

Exceptional host
Michelle was an exceptional host. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. She had live bouquets of flowers throughout the house, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked to meet any need. During our stay, she checked in with us to see if things were Ok. Michelle is very personable and takes a personal interest in providing a pleasant stay. A bonus was the VRBO was very close to the airport which was nice since our flight arrived in the wee hours of the morning. The surrounding neighborhood is fun to walk around-there are no 2 houses alike. I give her a 5++++ rating.

My parents and I stayed in Michelle's lovely bungalow one week in June and enjoyed every minute! All of the essentials are covered and groceries are a quick walk across the street. Ask Michelle for endless ideas of activities and reviews of neighborhood restaurants. She is extremely responsive and generous! We woke up to fresh eggs from her chickens. She lent us her raincoat and umbrella because we left ours back east. The neighborhood is quiet and parking is a breeze. We have family in town and would stay here again in a heartbeat. It feels like home away from home. I'd give this experience 12 stars if I could. Enjoy!

The best VRBO home we’ve stayed in Portland
I can’t say enough about this home! First, Michelle is amazing, attentive and kind. She was available to communicate with instantly and even brought us fresh eggs in the morning. We were welcomed with fresh cut flowers, and an assortment of snacks and wine. What a warm welcome! I’ve stayed in many vrbo’s in Portland the years and this stands out as the best. The home has some amazing modern art, the fridge has extra snacks, kitchen and bath are stocked with all your needs. One of the main complaints I have with many places is the lack of pillows, towels and blankets. There are plenty of all three, and I mean lots!! Thank you for such a wonderful stay Michelle, you really made us feel at home!

Beautiful and super clean property - the host was amazing!
My husband and I stayed at the Colorful Roseway Bungalow for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it. The house was amazingly clean AND allowed us to stay with our two dogs, which is an impossible find. The host, Michelle, thought of everything. Everywhere I turned, there was a small convenience or thoughtful item: - Hmm, I think I'd like to sit with my laptop on the couch this afternoon, I wonder if there's an outlet nearby. Yes, there is! - I'm carrying a wet dog in my arms and I need to turn on the light in the bedroom, I wish I could turn it on with my foot. Oh, I can! - Shoot, I forgot to bring my raw honey from home for my tea. Wait, there's some here in the fridge! Michelle had live plants/flowers in almost every room (yes, even in December) and left us a bottle of wine, chocolate, popcorn, and a bottle of Topo Chico. The bed was super comfy and I piled it high with extra quilts that were provided. Michelle also, miraculously, didn't mind our two dogs who were unusually barky and annoying after being cooped up for almost the whole week prior because of the "atmospheric river" we were experiencing. When I texted her to see if she had a flashlight for a late night walk with the dogs, she brought one right up to us. We love Portland (especially the food - don't forget to check out Pizzeria Otto right down the street) and we would love to stay at the Colorful Roseway Bungalow if Michelle will have us again. :)
