The room itself was not bad. The neighbors seemed like they were locals staying there and were screaming and fighting.
The staff could barely communicate in English. As in it took several tries to figure out what my reservation was!
No heat in my room, it was only 58 degrees in there!! No point in asking the staff.... they don't speak english!!!
No stopper for tub, only one glass in the room, staff and their children very loud and noisy in hallway and common area, couldn’t control the heat in the room, very poor attempt for a continental breakfast. Restaurant food was good.
Very Friendly staff.
Not a big deal, but the complimentary breakfast offer a great selection with cereals, juices/coffee, fruit, yogurt, toast eggs and hashbrowns....suprised no meat (bacon or sausage)
Great value though
Thank you
The staff was friendly and helpful but the property was very rundown. Lights were kept off so it was darker than it should have been. There was a handwritten sign above the pay phones that said "$5 per ride" and had someone's phone number written. It felt very uncomfortable and unsafe.

A nice stay, but the outside is still uninviting to look at - no flowers or nice areas to look at or hang out at. Fenced off area for "play" overrun with weeds and an eyesore to look at. Area around entrance to front desk full of rocks and weeds. Rooms by pool noisy.

Staff were good, rooms were
Clean, definitely an older
Building with on going maintenance happening
Room was dirty, site was run down, smelled funny. Food in restaurant was awful, worst poutine I’ve ever had. Multiple families living in the upstairs rooms like the place is also an apartment block. Got three hours sleep and left due to noise from the people that live there. Most of the rooms were empty or so bad no one could stay in them. I want my money back

Days Inn Portage la Prairie
When we arrived we did not get our King room reservation. We were put in a room with 2 double beds, they did not adjust our rate that we reserved under. They had to go take stuff for the tv from another room to get ours working. They have a full service resteraunt, but when we went to eat the place was closed for a private event with no notice. Rooms need some sprucing up, staff need some better training in dealing wit guests.

First hotel I have had to recommend not to stay at. Not well maintained at. No-one at reception desk to greet you. Had to go to find some one to check it. Room okay needs maintenance. Electric heater not even wall mounted. Wall paper coming off around the door and by the bed. One window boarded up with styrofoam? Not very safe. Breakfast hot menu - disgusting, mini hotdogs floating in water and scrambled eggs. Sorry but would not feed to a pet. No yogurts offered. No one at check out desk. Had to go find someone and not willing to wait so left card on counter. Surprised Wyndham would have name associated with it given that there was a microtel by Wyndham across the highway. We were not able to get a room there when booking which is why this hotel was a second choice. Sorry but need to spend some money on this hotel.
Unique was that it is from 1970 with that still be the case. Bathroom kind of updated. Beds were ok but the rest is from 1970. Interesting smells and really no air movement in the rooms. No AC and missing tub drain plug so shower only. They are trying but a long way to go before they are up to a standard of minimum expectations. The art work was from at least open as it has not changed from when I was a little person who had birthday parties in there. 45 years ago. No joke. Exact same pics. Restaurant is all pre-made items from Sysco as it is also the same stuff as served at the hospital in items. Some staff tried others were not sure why they worked there.
