The Beach House on Florida's Forgotten Coast

The Beach House is a home like no other. Built by Curt in 2014, this cottage is nestled within the palms of a large, serene corner lot on the beautiful Forgotten Coast. The quiet area around the house allows for a relaxing trip with uncrowded beaches. Light-washed hardwood runs floor to ceiling throughout the home and the large windows provide spectacular views of the surrounding environment. Our private access trail across the street, outdoor shower, and water hose make beach trips a breeze. This coastal area is pet-friendly and offers many enjoyable possibilities including peaceful strolls on the beautiful beaches, swimming, sun bathing, boating, snorkeling, fishing, crabbing, scalloping and surfing. Beach equipment including golf carts, canoes, kayaks, and extra chairs can be rented nearby.

The balconies are great for watching the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, as well as for wildlife viewing. Bottlenose dolphins are often seen swimming by, even from the house. Loggerhead sea turtles make their nests on our beaches from May through October. The empty lot across Hall street is a State Preserve where eagles are viewed almost daily. Also, be sure to listen out for the mockingbird family that lives nearby! It is not uncommon to see one sit on the roof to recite his songs for the day.

The Beach House is a custom built two-story home with two bedrooms, two full baths, a large kitchen and family room, and a private breakfast room with spectacular views to enjoy your morning coffee. The house sleeps eight, with a queen size bed in each bedroom, and two pull out queen size sofa beds in the living room. There are porches on both the front and back of the home. The back porch is screened and there are small open deck porches off of each bedroom which are excellent for greeting the morning sun or watching the stars at night.

The Beach House contains a fully equipped kitchen, a utility room with a washer and dryer, wi-fi, and a smart TV with streaming capabilities and Hulu+ access for live channels. The private breakfast room and family room offer excellent beach views. The house has central heating and air conditioning and ceiling fans are installed in most rooms. The large yard includes outdoor grills and a cement breezeway under the house complete with a wooden porch swing, picnic table, and ping pong table for entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.

This coastal area offers one of the last beautiful private and peaceful beaches in Florida, where you can collect a variety of sea shells, appreciate wildlife, and enjoy the peace and beauty of The Uncommon Florida. If you're looking for a beautiful, one of a kind home on a quiet beach to relax and enjoy the wonders of Florida's Forgotten Coast, the Beach House is the place!

- The Indian Pass Raw Bar is a unique restaurant with a rich history. With a 2 minute drive, you can enjoy delicious, local seafood including oysters, stuffed shrimp, and crab legs. Outside they often have live music or karaoke. Be sure to mark your hometown on the map inside!
- Less than 15 minutes west, you will find the city of Port St. Joe where you can enjoy fine dining, great shopping, outdoor adventures, and other entertainment.
- The St. Joseph Peninsula State Park located on Cape San Blas is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches. You can rent canoes and kayaks or launch your own boat into the pristine waters of St. Joe Bay.
- Another interesting and educational place to visit is the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve which is located approximately 30 miles to the east. Free to the public, the nature center at the Reserve offers educational exhibits and aquaria featuring local fish, turtles and other wildlife. This is a family favorite.
- If you enjoy shopping in small eclectic shops, you will want to visit the historic town of Apalachicola to the east and enjoy some delicious, fresh seafood while you're there. This is also a great place to pick up some local tupelo honey to bring home.

Great location!
The house and location were great. Unfortunately it rained almost every day we were there … but a rainy day at the beach always beats a day at work. Hope to visit again!

Hurricane Respite
After our hometown ( Valdosta,Ga) being pulverized by Hurricane Helene , this was a welcome respite. This home, with all of the wood ceilings and walls, was a welcome place to spend a week away ! Beautiful views from multiple levels, well equipped kitchen and attentive hosts. The beach is quite expansive compared to the Cape. Highly recommend golf cart rental . Well worth it !

Relaxing
This is a wonderful location with beautiful ocean views and a lovely short path to the beach. We enjoyed buying fresh fish at St. Joe shrimp company maybe 8 minutes away and The Piggly Wiggly in Port St. Joe is well stocked. The beach is quiet and full of shells. Highly recommend.

Cozy and just right
This property is just right for a small group, not too expensive and you will get the feel of on the ocean front. The home has everything you need to cook basic meals. Short walk to beach or rent a golf cart from St Joe's patio, most places will deliver them to you. Rustic, cute and very convenient in middle of everything. You have St Joe, the Cape, St George, Apalachicola few other places to shop or eat.

The house was even more beautiful in person. The beach was quiet, the house beautifully decorated in coastal style. There are some very good dive bars nearby, as well as the Saint Joseph Peninsula National Park. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough.

Amazing Location
We loved the beach house! The ocean view was amazing and the house is exactly what we were looking for - laidback with a taste of old Florida. It had everything we needed and more. We also loved the area, with the mix of the cute town of Port St. Joe and the state park on the Cape. Everyone we met was amazingly kind.

Amazing location & beautiful house!
We had a good stay! Pros: The house was nice & well stocked with everything we could need. The owners were very very nice they accommodated a couple hour early check in for us too! They were easy to talk to & communicate with. The location was perfect it was very quiet and peaceful. So close to the beach it felt like we were beach front. The master bedroom balcony was our favorite view! The house was very clean besides the blankets. Cons: The blankets on the bed (& extras provided) were clean (no stains, smelled clean) but had dog hair and human hair in the bed. The path to walk through to the beach had a lot of thorn like balls that got stuck to our shoes, in our dogs paws & even on our skin & made us bleed when they stuck in our skin. The water at the house was not clear, it had a yellow tint & had a smell to it. We did not feel comfortable drinking it or showering in it. To fix this we recommend walking down the road by the house to the beach access. It’s only about 3 minutes away & it’s completely paved. Bringing your own bottled water & blankets. They were very minor issues. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the house I just think mentioning the water quality and alternative path to the beach would be a good addition to the listing description!
