Cape San Blas - Gulf Sunrise or Bay Sunset?

2-Kings, 4-Single Bunks.

"Salty Scallop" located on the South End of Cape San Blas in the secluded Cape Dunes (HOA with private deeded Gulf beach boardwalk just a 2-5 minute walk to beach with no roads to cross).

Beach house is centrally located to area restaurants and sites and serves as a perfect base camp for exploring Old Florida's 'Unforgettable Coast'. Nature enthusiasts will rejoice at the proximity to the Loggerhead Walking/Biking Trail that extends the 8 mile length of the peninsula. A two minute walk to nearby Salinas Park features: nature walk (bald eagles), multiple pickleball courts and the Scallop Republic (Tues.-Sat. after 5:00 p.m.) for the only craft beer/wine bar on the Cape featuring live music indoors and dramatic bay views. Drive 3 miles east to the famous Indian Pass Raw Bar for local oysters or 10 miles into downtown Port St. Joe to visit local shops and eateries.
One of the few properties on the Cape that has peak-a-boo views of St. Joe Bay from the front deck and the Gulf of Mexico from the back deck.
There is enough room for a comfortable stay for four adults accompanied by up to four children. (Sorry, absolutely NO Pets or Indoor Smoking). Kitchen is complete with fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig, 4-slice toaster, cooking essentials and other luxuries of home plus a stacked washer and dryer.
Cook outside on the large industrial charcoal grill. Central AC with ceiling fans in all bedrooms if you enjoy a slight breeze. Open the master window and be serenaded by the sound of waves at night. Bedrooms feature new mattresses and bedding. Up to 1 Gig Wi-Fi internet with ethernet accessibility to 'work from home'. Living room has 65" Smart TV with Sling, Netflix, Disney+, Pluto, ROKU so you can enjoy a movie. Master and Guest bedrooms are equipped with televisions for local Panama City Beach, FL and Dothan, AL broadcasts via antenna ABC, CBS, NBC, CW. But, who wants to watch television when there's so much to do outdoors?
Bring your fishing gear and grab a saltwater license because the onshore fishing can be great fun. Or, bring your bathing suits and take the kids swimming in the Gulf of Mexico (keep an eye out for dolphins and the seasonal manatees).
Drive 11 miles north to the end of the Cape San Blas peninsula and visit T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park ($6 entry fee). There you can experience what The Travel Channel and 'Dr. Beach' has named America's #1-Ranked beach and Top State Park!

Beautiful clean house
We had an awesome stay! The owner was quick to answer any questions or accommodations we had. The house was beautiful and had all the things we needed for our stay! Parking was plentiful for 3 vehicles, easy in and out access. Our family really enjoyed the house and our stay, we will definitely be back!

Great Stay for Family
Enjoyed the Salty Scallop! Very easy walk down boardwalk to the beach. Good location to access the cape and port st. joe. Beach amenities like wagon and chairs were nice to have. A great stay for my family with 3 boys ages 8,6,3.

Sweet little home walking distance from the beach!
We had a wonderful stay at the Salty Scallop! We had a few issues at check in with the cleaning crew working late but the owner was so quick to solve our problems and comped us cleaning fees. This house was the perfect size for our family and the kids enjoyed lots of cousin time playing board games, visiting the beach, watching movies and making memories! We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and we were in the perfect location. It was the perfect place! We will be back!

Short walk to the beach, quiet, comfy
Communication with Robert was quick and concise. Arrival was easy, parked and inside within moments. Property just as described. Nice being able to park under the house. Short walk to the beach. CSB is very natural, not much traffic, yet anything you need is a short drive away. The beach is beautiful, the bay is also beautiful. We kayaked several times in the bay, great place to paddle, relax on a sand bar, or catch some fish.

Another Great Trip to the Cape
Our stay this year was shorter than the last time, but Robert was accommodating by not requiring 7 days like many other rentals. There were more toys than we anticipated, including a couple of bikes, a wagon to haul things to the beach, cornhole boards, some floats, and chairs and sand toys. It looked like there were some remodeling projects started which will I'm sure help future stays be as nice as ours was. Thank you Robert. We enjoyed our 4th trip to CSB.

Had a nice stay. House was clean and the owner is very accommodating. Only negatives were cleaning service only had one roll of toilet paper in the house and only 1 ice tray. Both easily remedied. Would stay here again

Nice but needs some work
Overall we enjoyed our stay but we immediately noticed some things that should’ve been fixed. Pros: Close enough walk to the beach. Comfortable beds, enough seating, sufficient cookware and dishes, beach wagon, kayak, bikes, beach toys, beach chairs, nice tv setup, easy parking, quiet area (while we were there), close enough to bike and walk to Salinas, a few odd and end pantry items leftover were helpful, the washer & dryer worked well. Cons: The lock on the doorknob on the front door is useless, the new flooring looks nice but the thresholds were missing and the floor itself is uneven, the fans in the bedrooms are on remotes but they were connected so we had to figure out the best way to compromise (There may have been a way to fix this but I never got the chance to message the owner.), there is a dehumidifier in the master bathroom, if you run it it gets warm, if you don’t run it there is a musty smell, the Keurig only worked sometimes, the master bath was missing the doorknob, it was in a drawer. We did enjoy our stay but we likely won’t be back until we know the musty smell in the master bath is gone and the front doorknob is replaced.

Florida trip 2023
Love staying in the community. House was nice but has some flooring issues, master bathroom door knob was missing and towel racks were coming off the wall. Other than that, everything was great. Issue’s definitely didn’t hinder our stay at all. The kids loved the beach and we love the quietness of the community.

Pleasant stay
I myself did not stay on the property. The company I work for requires a lot of travel and we like to get VRBO's to make their longer stays more comfortable. Robert was so helpful and accommodating when we needed to book day of and extend our stay due to weather delays in work. Our crew enjoyed your property very much!

Great house & location !
This was our first time to the area and it exceeded our expectations! The house was in a great location and was a good fit for our family of 7! We spent most of our time at the beach but enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen and eating and playing cards at the dining table (it’s the perfect card playing table because it’s round)! The beach chairs & bikes available were fun too! You can tell the house has been updated recently and the beds were super comfy! We caught lots of fish and had waves of fun!!

Great Stay
We had an awesome stay at the Salty Scallop! Robert was great to work with and had some great recommendations for food and fishing. The unit was incredibly clean and close to everything. If you are a pack mule and taking everything with you to the beach, you have about a 5-6 minute walk to the beach. If you are just going for a stroll and aren’t carting chairs, umbrellas, etc. it’s probably 2-3 minute walk. Close to the state park, Indian Pass, Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach. Close to the bay and beach. Beds were extremely comfortable, and the kids loved the bunk beds. We had a blast and hope to be back soon! Thank you for allowing us to stay!!!
