Bungalow on South Padre Bay

Enjoy the best the South Padre Island (SPI) area has to offer from this quiet and secure waterfront respite. This bungalow's backyard is the Laguna Madre. From our cozy serene home and dock, you can enjoy countless hours daydreaming or reading as you look out at the expansive lagoon, or do some bird watching, paddle boarding, kayaking, or fishing! From your water nest, you will be a short 15 minutes from SPI beaches, but far enough to get away from the crowds after a long day in the sun.
This is NOT the place to throw loud parties as it isn't allowed and there is a security guard on site and will be immediate grounds to terminate your stay.
This beach-themed bungalow is located in a quiet, secure gated community. You can count on access to to the community pool, hot tub, and Gazebo located at the end of a dock where you can take selfies or pictures of glorious sunsets and sunrises and the South Padre Island skyline. The bungalow counts with a two-car driveway and private backyard with a BBQ grill, and outdoor seating. The living area has a comfortable couch where you can watch your favorite show or movie on a 60" TV.
You will also have access to a picnic area under a beautiful lagoon-side pergola, a basketball court, and children's playground. If you're an avid runner, you can log miles in various directions just outside the property gate.
Guests are encouraged to bring kayaks, paddle boards, floating devices and fishing gear as well as water shoes and/or waterproof fishing gear (if you don't want to get wet). Some information on the Laguna Madre: The Laguna Madre is a long, shallow, hypersaline lagoon along the western coast of the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of seven major estuaries along the Gulf Coast of Texas. The roughly 20-mile (32 km) long Saltillo Flats land bridge divides it into Upper and Lower lagoons joined by the Intracoastal Waterway, which has been dredged through the lagoon. Cumulatively, Laguna Madre is approximately 130 miles (209 km) long, the length of Padre Island in the US.
Guests can access the entire home, driveway, and community areas including the basketball court, picnic area, playground, pool, hot tub, and gazebo. In addition, guests can borrow our kayaks for an additional fee. Guests are free to fish (with a valid Texas fishing license) from our back yard (in high tide), the gazebo, or you can literally walk over two football fields (and then some) out into the lagoon.
If you want to spend a day or evening in the big city, you are about 30 minutes from Brownsville and the border with Mexico.
We will be available virtually (via phone, text) to you for questions or issues that may arise.
This Bungalow is located in the newly developed community known as Las Joyas. The minute you drive in to the this community you know you're near the ocean with its serene layout and pastel colored houses. If you need to shop for groceries an HEB and Walmart is a short mile away as is a Starbucks and many other restaurants. The historic quaint town of Port Isabel is a couple miles away, 2.2 miles to the Port Isabel Lighthouse Historic Site. South Padre Island beaches are a short 15 minute drive (could be slower in high season).
Interested in getting in touch with nature? Our community is surrounded by the nearby Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refugee which compasses more than 97, 000 acres, a portion of which are open to the public for wildlife related activities like wildlife watching, hunting, fishing, photography and environmental education.
Our bungalow is not located near public transportation. While it is walking distance (1-2 miles) to stores and restaurants, a private vehicle is highly recommended.
Be sure to bring plenty of mosquito repellent especially during the summer months!

A perfect getaway.
The bungalow is in the perfect location for relaxing on the deck over the water, and close to countless local attractions, or anything a person might need. The best attraction is the nature (birds, fish, kayaking), and the beautiful decor of the bungalow reflects the nautical theme. We loved the layout, cleanliness, the thoughtful touches of usb plugs in the lamps, any utensil needed in the kitchen, and comfortable seating and bedding. The hosts are very kind and helpful. The view of the water from indoors is just as lovely, and the night lighting on the deck make it a great spot to watch the sunset. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
