Sail away to this sea breeze home away from home! Just a few steps from your humble abode, you'll find the pristine sandy shores of the Gulf of Mexico where you can dip your feet in the waters, take a nap under the shade of an umbrella, or read a good book as you relax in the sun. The Gulf Range is a short drive away, where you and the family can enjoy a couple of games of mini-golfing or eat at its saloon that serves tasty food all day long.

After you're done exploring the beautiful coast, return back to your vacation rental to find a spacious main living area set up with comfortable tawny couches for you and your guests to rest on after a fun-filled day, a full kitchen equipped with stainless steel appliances, and a balcony with a breathtaking view of the waters out on the horizon. Take a quick power nap in the sun in the home's hammock or watch the sun slip under the ocean as the clouds overhead shift from its gorgeous orange hue to nighttime. Be sure to bring a couple of drinks with you and talk until the late hours of the evening with your friends. This'll be one trip you won't forget anytime soon!

Great Ocean View
Great location and very close distance to the beach. Great little community down the road and Great seafood and food trucks. The house was wonderful and spacious and loved the decor...Coastal Living. For one stop shopping the "Big Store" is a must for all your food and shopping needs. Also, just a ferry ride to Galveston. Enjoy!

Wonderful beachfront house
When they say this house is beachfront , they truly mean beach front!! Views from the balcony can’t be be beat.. 30 seconds and your feet are in the water while you find sea shells and sea glass everywhere !! Very comfortable beds and house was super clean! We will be back

Wonderful location
The home is spacious and beautifully decorated. The finishes in in the kitchen and bath are really nice too. Our mattress was so comfortable and there were plenty of extra linens, towels, pillows etc. The little extras like laundry detergent, cleaning wipes, salt & pepper was a nice touch. The view from the front porch can't be beat eithher! We would definitely choose this location again.

First, home is great and location is fantastic. I wish i could say i had a calm time relaxing but with the construction of a home 20ft away kinda took away the serenity of the place. 8am-4pm chainsaws going off. Terrible. Plenty of beds but on our last night we noticed the bed closest to the door had a TON of ants. We could not get rid of them. Beach was great. Also getting access to key for door was a pain. Please fix the keyless entry.

The Gem Of Gilchrist is a True Treasure!
Friends and I stayed at The Gem from Friday thru Monday, February 16-19. I only had one problem with this beautiful house, it is so wonderful I did t want to leave!!! The home is welcoming and so comfortable. It was so hard to get of bed with the cozy comfortable mattress pads. The home’sproximity to the beach was a huge plus. And the price was right!! Hope to stay again soon!!!

On the front row!
This is as the first time we splurged for a front row rental at the beach! Now there will be no going back. The Glen affords guests a magnificent view of the water and the beach. We spent hours in the tall chairs sipping on icy drinks (the ice machine is awesome) and watching the waves and the birds. It was the break we needed. There is even a hammock for the deck! While it was just the 2 of us, the house is equipped with 4 queen beds in the living room and would easily sleep 10! Everything you could need is there from beach chairs to surfing boards and beach gear for collecting shells and building castles. The cabin is great. But if you have never treated you and yours to a house where you could step out and be on the beach this is the ticket!
