Your health and safety comes first to us! We are using products approved by the CDC to eradicate any lingering germs, bacteria, and viruses. We are taking extra precautions by ensuring all commonly touched surfaces are wiped down completely. The linens, towels, bed sheets, etc. are washed per manufacturers guidelines. We are also stocking our home with essential disinfectants and supplies to help you follow the CDC’s guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you to our property and hosting your stay.

This clean, well maintained and much loved home is our latest addition to Hunters' Gate Homes. It is appropriately named, as the eagles have built a nest overhead in the towering tree that grows in the yard.

It accommodates four having one queen bed, and one snug double bed, plus two bathrooms with tubs. It has a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and of course has a washer and dryer.

On the cooler days the cozy wood stove adds to the ambiance and comfort while enjoying the magnificent surroundings from the many large windows. On the warm summer evenings, the wrap around deck is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the sunsets and lights of Port Angeles. The parade of ships going past makes for an ever changing and interesting view with Victoria, B.C. as the back drop.

Walk out with your morning coffee to the private lookout bench to take in the smell of the fresh salt air and watch the tide come in. You'll hear the seagulls in front of you, the songbirds behind you and you will relax to the sound of the waves rearranging the rocks on the beach down below.

You will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.

The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.

There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.

The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Eagle's Nest.

An oasis of its own
Although most, if not all, are coming here to visit ONP, this VRBO actually is a destination all by itself. The home is very comfortable and spacious. The property has some trails and lookouts that are amazing. We saw deer each morning and theoughout the days of our stay. We also spotted a bald eagle that hung out for hours in a tree that was easy to to see on the coast.

Beautiful property...not great for disabled or elderly
What a beautiful place and very clean. It is a bit difficult if you have disabilities or are elderly. Most everyone else will enjoy the place and the property. A short walk to the edge of the property for amazing views of Juan De Fuca Nd Victoria...

Paradise
This review may be colored by the fact that we enjoyed perfect weather the entire time. So here goes. This is probably the best rental I have ever stayed in. It is everything promised in the listing and more. The house and its furnishings were pristine and included everything we needed and more. What might not come through in the description is the astonishing location. We could see the blue of the strait from the house filtered by the beautiful vegetation. And by walking a short distance out to one of the many creatively placed and carefully constructed viewpoints we could see vast panoramas of the strait along with Canada in the distance. We were entranced by seeing eagles roosting in nearby trees on the several mornings when we looked. Wow. Beautiful. Add in deer and fauns and we had our own nature reserve. Of people, though, we saw very few, though there are other houses in the-groomed park like setting. The trail to the beach is not for the weak of leg but is worth the effort. Go at low tide. This place is a very good base location for the many gorgeous places on the peninsula. Ok. Maybe it was the cloudless weather but without hesitation I give Eagle’s Nest my unqualified “superb!” Recommendation. Grab it if you can.

Amazing Place
This was the perfect home base for two friends as we explored ONP. This house has beautiful views, great trails, beach access, wildlife and quiet comfort. The house was well stocked and clean, kitchen was roomy and washer and dryer were much appreciated. The daily sightings of deer and bald eagles made it extra special.

This house has everything, views, comfort, quiet.
This home is one of the best we have stayed in, and we use VRBO a lot for vacations. Great views every night over dinner and again in the morning over coffee. Beautiful grounds, the path down to the beach is amazing. The beds were super comfortable, plenty of towels and linens. The kitchen was great, we cooked several home cooked meals instead of eating out nightly. The use of washer/dryer came in handy. We decided to stay an extra day and were pleased the house was available. The deer all around just made it even more special.

Good family gateway
We had a good family time at the Eagle Nest. We were two adults, a kid and a dog. The location is very nice. We enjoyed the quiet farmland, and many trees all around it. Deer sometimes passed by and visited us. Neighbors were quiet and respectful. The house is pretty, but needs some additional maintenance. It is well supplied for staying several days, and cook in. We paid the extra fee to keep the dog ($90), and respected the house rule of no pets on furniture (good idea). Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living room were all very comfortable. TV room a little less because did not have enough seats for all. The deck is a bit of a concern: the wood is aging and a couple of floor boards are rotting. It needs to be repaired soon. During our staying the stove hood did not work properly. We called the owners on day one and they quickly came to check. Very nice people. The replacement of the hood took longer then our stay, so we had to do without it, but we understand these things can happen and would not hold this against them. One little thing we did not like about our stay was that we found the grill dirty. Not a big deal, but it looked as if it was left dirty by previous guests and escaped the clean-up before we arrived. So, we did not use it at all. All in all it was a good time at the Eagle Nest, and we would likely return, especially if the deck gets repaired.

The Unexpected Gem
A surprise that was part of a secluded community nestled in a beautiful corner of northern Washington State. East of Port Angeles, easy access to Olympic National Park and ferries to British Columbia. We only wish that we spent more time here.

Beautiful setting
We really enjoyed staying at this property. The best part was the short walk to a bluff overlooking the ocean, where we watched the sun set each night. It was quiet and private and comfortable. There were maps and books and brochures for us to use to explore the area. The house was very well supplied. All in all, a very nice place to stay to enjoy the national Park and surrounding area.

Nice house, magnificent property!
The house is incredibly clean and functional. It has everything that you could think of for the kitchen, a brand new gas grill, loads of logs for the woodburning fireplace, even tools if you need to repair something (like a bicycle, etc). The property is gorgeous, sitting high on a cliff with great views of the ocean, the San Juan Islands, Victoria Island, Port Angeles. Plenty of space to hike on the property, especially to the beach; contrary to other reviews, it has beach access which is private so it's a little tricky to find the gate. And great location for Olympic National Park activities; Lake Crescent, Hurricane Ridge 45 minutes drives. A gem!

Lovely home, but smells of cigarette smoke and no path to beach
The home is really lovely and comfy, but if you are allergic at all to cigarette smoke you should ask for it to be aired out before you arrive. There's also no path to the beach as far as we could find having walked 15 minutes through pretty high cliff trails. That was a bummer because we splurged for my birthday to be on the beach....nice house, very pretty views, though. Just not beach combing as advertised, sadly.

Beautiful peaceful location!
Gorgeous quiet place! We saw eagles every day, and the sunsets over the water were amazing. Four stars and not five because there was no way to access the beach but it really was a lovely vacation. Home was clean and well appointed. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful, secluded retreat.
The property has an amazing view of the water from the back deck (perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine) and is far enough away from everything to be truly relaxing. It is also close enough to many different outdoor activities for those who want to be out and about. The trail to the beach was to much for my partner who is still recovering from surgery, and I had to carry my 3 yo, but the 9yo loved the adventure and the beach was deserted the whole time we were there. It was also a quick drive to the Dungeness Spit which was a much easier trek. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook all our meals at home and the kids loved the side yard and the bench facing the ocean. The beds were not as comfortable as home but it was a minor inconvenience and no worse than most hotels I have stayed in. Wifi was reliable. We would absolutely stay here again.

great location
Overall, great stay. The house is right by the ocean, and it was very clean upon our arrival. The house is outdated, however it has all the amenities you will need, and the beds were quite comfortable. There was a slight mix up upon our arrival, but the owner was quick to right it. We will definitely be staying here again.
