Our holiday home Taverner is a 2 bedroom terrace house in the peaceful area of Poole known as Baiter Park just a few yards from the water edge and 10 minutes walking distance of bustling Poole Quay with its restaurants, pavement cafes and bars, yet quiet at night. The house is located just four miles from the famous beaches at Sandbanks with other sandy beaches a little further.
The house consists of a double room and a twin room. A folding bed can be provided for a 5th person. The beds are all made up on your arrival with hotel quality bed linen. The bathroom consists of a full size bath with power shower with glass screen, toilet and wash basin. The kitchen has been recently refurbished with breakfast bar and includes washing machine, dish washer, fridge, freezer, built in oven with hob. It contains all the facilities need for your stay including microwave, toaster etc.
The kitchen leads to the private secluded south facing courtyard with table and chairs and gas BBQ available from May to October.
The lounge has a flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, two 2 seater leather sofas, dining table and 4 chairs.
The local park, beach and children's' play area is walking distance from the house. The blue flag beaches of Poole at Sandbanks and the National Trust beaches at Studland are a short drive away. Poole is a haven for watersports such as sailing, windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing, waterskiing and wake boarding. Poole Harbour is ideal for birdwatchers of all ages. The apartment would suit couples or those looking for a family holiday or as a base for walking or cycling.
Dorset's attractions are the mild climate, golden sandy beaches, beautiful coastline and countryside. It's weather is favourable, Dorset having amongst the most sunshine hours per year in the UK.
There are the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle (National Trust), the Swanage Steam Railway, the long sandy beaches of Studland and the fascinating Sandbanks Chain Ferry (single car crossing approx £3) within a short distance.
Poole has 41 miles of cycle network and the various routes cater for all ages and abilities of cyclists.
Brownsea Island, a National Trust property, can be accessed via regular pleasure boat from Poole Quay, where you can also find boats to neighbouring Swanage, Bournemouth, and Sandbanks.
