Situated among towering pines, tucked into a hillside, with beautiful views of Flathead Lake, you’ll find Nature House… a comfortable, modern Montana oasis on the Finley Point peninsula, just two quick miles from the public lake access at Flathead Lake State Parks - Finley Point Unit.
Breathe deep in the beautiful outdoor sauna. Enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks by the fire table on the spacious deck. Watch the deer, turkeys, and occasional bear. Look up and see osprey, hawks, and eagles flying and calling overhead. All while gazing out over the beautiful, blue waters of famed Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake West of the Mississippi.
Nature House is not only a beautiful refuge outside, but inside as well. Designed as a place of respite and rejuvenation for folks looking for a relaxing getaway, Nature House is all about simple comfort. Giant windows make it feel as if you're living in the trees. Take in lake and mountain views while unwinding in the concrete soaking tub for two (bubbles provided!). Let the shower's rain and jet features work their magic on sore, tired muscles. Relax and reconnect. How about an in-home massage? Nature House has partnered with Anna Faith, Licensed Massage Therapist, who will come right out to the house. Ahhhhmazing!
Nature House features two distinct sleeping areas depending on your mood and needs. Downstairs is a dark and cozy bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed and television. Upstairs in the loft, wake up to trees and dazzling lake views in the cloud-like king size bed and enjoy a cup of coffee and good conversation in the comfortable sitting area. Along with wireless internet and 50" televisions in the living room and downstairs bedroom, you’ll find a nice selection of books, music, and games for entertainment. And shuffleboard! There’s an 8’ shuffleboard table in the loft, for those guests with a bit of a competitive streak! A beautiful full kitchen looking over the lake, dining table for 4-6, propane grill and outdoor seating, and a stock of basic spices, oils, and condiments, make cooking at home delightful and easy.
Flathead Lake State Parks - Finley Point Unit is just two miles down the road and is the perfect place to launch your boat, paddle board, or kayak. Or take a short drive on one of the most scenic highways in the country, along the East Shore of Flathead Lake, and explore the waters and orchards of Yellow Bay and Woods Bay. Check out the galleries, theater, and restaurants in Bigfork… maybe book a sunset sailboat cruise! Head just 8 miles South to Polson to stock up on supplies and grab a burger at Richwine’s Burgerville… locally owned and operated since 1962. Take in the spectacular scenery as you play a round of golf at Polson Bay Golf Course. For fabulous food close to home, check out the Finley Point Grille and the East Shore Smokehouse... they are both just two miles up the street at the turnoff. Getting married? Nature House is only one mile from The Barn at Finley Point and is absolutely perfect for honeymooners! Want to check out Glacier National Park? It's a great day trip from Nature House. An easy 75 miles from Missoula and 45 miles from Kalispell, Nature House is the perfect weekend getaway for locals and visitors alike.
Cozy and warm, designed with nature in mind and a contemporary sensibility, Nature House is all about comfort and connection to the surrounding landscape. Breathe deep and enjoy!
Please note: It is very important to me that your stay is comfortable, so there are a few things I'd like you to know:
The driveway is steep and it's dirt, but easily accessible Spring through Fall in most vehicles. 4WD/AWD, GOOD TIRES, AND A SOLID SENSE OF ADVENTURE ARE A MUST DURING WINTER CONDITIONS (which can start as early as October and last through March.) While I do my very best to make sure the driveway is clear and the house is accessible, there are times when Mother Nature will win the battle. Many guests have parked at the landing area halfway up and have enjoyed hiking in the second half (a few hundred yards). Or, you may have to park on the side of the road at the bottom of the hill and hike in a bit further. Gotta love Montana. ;-)
There is a short, steep uphill walk (takes about a minute) on a trail from the parking area to the house. There is a short staircase to the bathroom and a full staircase to the loft.
Television apps include Netflix and Pandora. You may access other apps with your own account.
The sauna is available September 1st - June 30th. The sauna is closed July and August.
Nature House is the perfect place for solo travelers and couples, but can accommodate up to 4 people. While I adore young children, Nature House is really the ultimate "grown up" and children are not allowed.
