So, we've stayed at lots of VRBOs and generally had very positive experiences. This was not one of them. Being very fair, but also to try to help future families as I myself rely lots on the reviews, here are our thoughts:
Pros:
1. Location and access
2. Backyard.
3. A/C works.
Cons:
1. There is no washer and dryer as advertised. There is a washer; but no dryer. This needs to be invested in by the owner. The property is by the beach and drying towels and clothes is essential - especially when advertised.
2. The shower doors were broken, awful to use and frustrating.
3. The front door was incredibly difficult to close due to wood rot and the big key lock. This should also be repaired.
4. The "hot tub" is an inflatable pool sunken into the deck which was not maintained, not cleaned, and not full of water.
5. The closet doors are difficult to open and half were full and unusable.
6. Its it TIGHT! Clearly its a single wide trailer - so this is advertised appropriately - but don't underestimate how small this is. Not good for families.
7. No attention to detail - kitchen is not well stocked with necessities. Not turnkey. No bare essentials of any kind - i.e. salt and pepper. Our experience is when the owner takes care of some of these details, then we pay it forward. We will buy and leave beach towels for future families for instance. There was nothing here and we paid nothing forward.
8. Propane tank was empty when we arrived - took two days for owner to replace it.
9. Its just generally, not maintained well. Its not worth the advertised price.
10. Also - we booked the place, the owner accepted; then came back to us and said that he had extended someone else's stay so we had to book another night in a hotel before we got there.
Just a negative overall experience that location and access couldn't overcome. We survived, there was nothing horrific, but wouldn't recommend to anyone I care about.
