"This is a charming boutique hotel with attentive and friendly staff. Janey the cook and her assistant Anushka prepare delicious meals, which are served directly overlooking the sea. Villa Anakao is not situated in a tourist spot. There is a nearby fish stall on a nearby beach which is worth a visit. This hotel is certainly not posh. It is real Mauritius, but is nevertheless a great place to relax after a day of exploring the island, and a fraction of the cost of the much smarter big brand hotels. I stay there when working in Mauritius and find it to be a welcome place to retreat to. "

"A stunning hotel with exceptional service and truly 5* food and drink. Although the rooms and some of the facilities are a little dated, please do not let this put you off as it is an absolutely incredible resort and the staff, pool/beach and dining options are impeccable. Could not recommend the all inclusive option more highly, it is fantastic value for money given the quality of food, drinks and activities on offer. We will definitely be back in the future! "

"The hotel is amazing. Beautiful food at the buffets and restaurants. Some of the best I’ve had at a buffet service. Beach is beautiful. Staff are lovely and helpful. David & Mr V at the scuba place are amazing and so good at alleviating fear for first timers and making it a great experience. Not a slight as the hotel, but be careful if booking the hooneymoon option through hotels.com. The website doesn’t allow you to select package and so on arrival we were told we had only be booked as breakfast only. The system isn’t great and certainly not clear. We had to pay additional £££ for a 9 night stay to upgrade to half board, which is what we thought we had booked anyway! Long story, I’d say go direct if you’re staying here as honeymooners. "

"I stay every 6 months and can see they do a lot to keep it in great condition. It is extremely clean and I love that it has a kitchenette and that there is a washing mashine at reception that can be used free of charge. Staff are so friendly and I just love staying at Beach R. "

"The staff were very polite and always ready to help. The receptionist Leticia was always smiling, the staff at cafe Lux, Neelam and Sylvano have excellent customer care, the barman Mr R Jhuree always approachable and friendly, with a great smile and has excellent communication skills. The main restaurant staff were excellent and the food choices for breakfast and dinner were excellent, the whole family enjoyed it as the spread had a great selection🇲🇺. The facilities within the hotel is excellent. We had an excellent family break."
