"Once again the George Inn proved to be an excellent place to stay. As ever the staff were so friendly and helpful, allowing me to park my car before the actual check in time in their free parking area right outside the premises. A warm welcome was received when we did check in later on and our whole experience was absolutely wonderful. "There was nothing to dislike about the Apple House. It was welcoming and friendly, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. If I need to stay in a York hotel again, I would choose the Apple House."

"Perfectly situated hotel within walking distance of the train station and the city centre. Very quiet street and the hotel itself is beautifully decorated. Breakfast was top notch too and the staff were super friendly. 10/10"

"I booked this hotel as I was attending a funeral nearby. The manager and all the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The rooms are simply furnished, but clean and comfortable. I noticed that some of the rooms were being updated while we were there. I had the Sunday lunch (Steak pie and veg) which was excellent and plenty of it too. The breakfast is of the continental style with no limit on what one ate and bottomless tea and coffee. We had to be out of the room by 11am....
